Oil on back of primary clutch- 2011 PRO-R 600

Guys- looking for some input here.

Just picked up a 2011 PRO-R 600. Started to clean it up and get things ready for the year tonight. I noticed some oil on the back of the primary as well as a little bit of oil on the crankshaft. When I took the clutch off I could see that it was oily where the clutch rides on crankshaft.
Now all that being said I know that the exhaust valves dumps that extra oil on that side and there was so much oil under the front side of the motor it was unreal. It that oil making its way over to the primary or do I need to take a hard look at the crank seal? What is a good way to check the crank seal to know if it is good?

Thanks for the help!

It's probably from the VES valves output. To check the crank seal, run the engine with the primary back on and spray carb cleaner or starter fluid on the crank seal while the engine is running, if the rpms immediately go up, it's leaking.

Remove the stock hose and install a longer hose that dumps out over by the exhaust. Then change to a better oil that doesn't leave all that spooge like "Legend". Worked for me.

Hey Kraven, is this a more appropriate answer for ya? Thanks for the bad rep, love you too.

Thanks for the info guys. It appears that it was it was. I tried to shoot some carb cleaner in by the back of the primary as it was running. It did not rev up at all so with what I shot in there something had to get there were it would have rev'ed up if it was leaking.

This thing sure seems to smoke a lot but I don't know if the last owner had it fogged in the spring or what.

I will switch oils once this tank full burns down. I have been running Amsoil in my 2011 800 RMK with good results.

Thanks again.
