Ogden area?

I'm looking at going to school in Ogden and was wondering how far I would have to go to get to some decent riding and how long the season is? Also does anyone know anything about the Weber technical college? Thanks.

I don't know about the college, but you will be in heaven for riding. There are a couple awesome areas within 15-30 minutes and probably close to a dozen areas within an hour and a half.

The season typically goes from late November to early May. In a couple areas you can usually ride into June.

You will be in the heart of my favorite places in the world to ride! As for the school, I don't know much about it. But, hey....the riding is awesome! :D

The school? huuuu! Ridding all over. :p I like living here as the fellas said, pick a direction and go play. 30 to monti, 30 to farmington, 30 to peterson back of farmington, 35 to bountifull, 1.5 to Uintah NL, 1.5 to soapstone Kamas, 1.65 to tony grove logan, 1.75 to franklin logan, and a bunch more 2 hours away like cub river Idaho, paradise, Paris and bloomington canyons. We rode tonys on father's day last year!!:D

Awesome. This sounds like the place for me. How is the town of Ogden? Salt Lake area? Anyone race bikes at Miller Park?

I live in Ogden on 22nd street and graduated from WSU. I don't know about the ATC but seems that many are happy with it. What are you looking to get your education in?

As many have mentioned.......there is a plethera of riding to be had here. Between ogden and SLC there is plenty to do. New Salomon Center in Ogden with indoor surfing/skydiving/rock climbing/ golds gym/ killer mountain biking on an unlimited trail system. Plenty of lakes, rivers, and places to fish, hunt, camp, etc.

Sorry didn't mean to sound like the tourism director, but Ogden is a great place.

I noticed WY in your HOMETOWN... Webers Tech school doesn't hold a candle to WYO TECH! And Laramie is a beautiful place to live and some very awsome riding close. Just my .02 cents....I went to Weber right out of HS and hated it. Completely different breed of people here. I moved back to WY and finished out at UW.

I am back in UT now and have learned to live here:) JMHO:)

I'm looking to get into a machining program. Probably cnc and a little manual as well. I'm not really interested in becoming a machinist as far as a career goes I but want to open up my own shop and build custom motorcycles so I figured machining skills would be necessary.

I actually grew up in Wisconsin and am now going to school at the University of Minnesota. I put up Wyoming in my places I live because that is where I did most of my riding. Thanks for the info on Wyo Tech, I will check it and Laramie out.

Like others have said, ogen slc area sucks!;)

I have a couple friends, co-workers who ride miller sports park, close and convienent.
Did I say the snowmobiling sucks here?

To be honest with you, I would not waste your time going to school for machining... At least not here, especially if you have common sense and are mechanically inclined.
I went through the machine tool program at weber state.
It helped, but I could have easily hired on in a shop and learned more in a shorter period of time.
I would look for a job in a machine shop/ or well equiped motorcycle dealership and use that to gain experience.
You could look into a small machine shop, or if the economy turns around, get a job at williams, hafb, parker, peterson etc.
