Odd belt wear.

I pulled my belt today to replace it and noticed it was only worn on one side of the "teeth" of the belt. This would be the outside side of the clutches. Should I be concerned before putting a brand new one on? I bought the sled with the belt on it, it was used then and I put another 500 miles on it. It's a skidoo 400417377. Thanks

Is the engine output not running perpendicular to the secondary shaft? I'm wondering if the inside of the belt has enough slop to ride on the inside of the primary clutch at idle causing this wear. On one side like that would make me think to check the engine alignment.

a broken spring will do that. Squeezes the belt when the spring is broken....

Take a look at the spring

Driven spring.........
