Because I can read, so therefore I know something about the statistics or rich people. I'm not a cat, but I know things about them too. You used to look stuff up. I'll give it to you again.

Basically, even when the tax rate was 91% on the very rich, they still paid the same amount of taxes, as they do when the tax rate was 28%, on them. This is based on GDP, but the contribution fell significantly. What that says, is that GDP suffered when taxes go up. The only people who's tax rate has moved is the poor. They pay less.

Now, do you understand. You can make their tax rate 20000% if you want. It won't change how much money you actually bring in. It will just change how they do things. They will run for the loopholes, and do anything to avoid taxes.
The middle class and upper middle class on the other hand, can't afford to build tax shelters and hire the right people. They get soaked, if their taxes are raised. And, all along, more people pay no taxes at all.
How exactly do you find time to make so many responses. Has your employer ever examined the liability of posting from work? Me, I don't write anything from work. Although, I have noticed that most of your posts deny one fact.
This is the year that emotion may elect a new leader. Too hell with substance.
Now if only the newspaper would call out all the other illegal activities.

With all do respect, that may be the most naive statement I have heard during this whole campaign. I now understand why Obama is even in this race. People are actually naive enough to believe what he says.
If you raise taxes on the wealthy (They are the ones who own the companies most of you work for) they will lower your wages to come up with dollars to pay the tax.
I may be in this tax bracket, and I promise you I am not going to pay the tax out of my income or my company profits. I will lay off employees or cut wages, or what ever I have to do to keep from paying the tax myself.
I just came across this picture again and believe me it makes my blood run cold.

This is a great thread. Let's keep it on the front page. Just remember all the BS we got from Obama and his pals Nancy Pelosi. Harry Reid and the rest of those POS's about, oh we can't drill in this country, just air up your tires instead. Now just look at the trouble they have gotten us in. I suppose it is all George Bush's fault. The whole deal boils down to their premise that if we can take from the rich and give it to the poor they will love us and vote for us forever. Hey that's good. That is really what their purpose is, along with turning this country socialist and Muslim so that they will love us too and not attack us any more. It makes me so mad I could stand on my head an spit nickels. I am really glad that I am as old as I am (69).

He starts off in the introduction by repudiating those critics of Obama who "have been content merely to slander him— to claim falsely that he refuses to salute the U.S. flag or was sworn into office on a Koran, or that he was born in a foreign country."
This is a serious book with 35 pages of documentation in the back to support the things said in the main text. In other words, if you don't believe what the author says, he lets you know where you can go check it out.

And yet everytime a flat tax with zero loopholes and deductions has been brought up, it has been the democrats that stop it from going anywhere.
You can't stop a person from pretecting their money.
Just as you can't stop a liberal democrat from doing everything in their power to steal it.

Obama voted "present" which really is a "no" on bills way more dispicable than a simple bridge to nowhere. Anyone read the nurses accounts of living babies put in a closet to die because the abortion process did not kill them? This is documanted facts from Illinois and is clearly involved in planned parenthood bills that have Obama all over them. He made political pacts with them and voting "present" saved him face.
He consitently has voted to limit/increase gun control despite the fact he refuses to have the guts to mention this during his run to the White house.
How can a punk, that grew up on food stamps, and wasted 2 years @ college smoking and snorting away, all of us sudden go on a world wide trip to middle east country's, then come home, attend Columbia where tuition today is $13,000 Plus per semester, then enroll @ Harvard and get out with no student loans! No payments shown on his tax returns!
This guy is smart, no doubt, but he is hiding more than any of us will ever find out. While he may screw up several issues as President, my big concern include the fact he will appoint 3 supreme court justice.
That is also a crock. Justices should not be able to resign @ a time when they know the sitting president will best serve ther political motive. If Obama gets in, 3 will retire. If Mccain gets in, most likely only 1. The other 2 will keep thier jobs until a liberal president will fill their seats.

He just got done paying off his student loans, your information is bunk.
He supports the 2nd Amendment, he has voted for background checks to buy a gun at a gun show which I also support. He believes in limiting magazine capacity, which I am not in favor of, but that is not a large enough issue for me to not vote for him. He does not favor gun registration, he does want a ban on assault rifles which I am against.
He is not coming after guns, there are more important issues at hand. It would be political suicide for him. If he gets in office and goes after guns while this country is in this state, he will be burned (rightfully) at the stake.
He went to the University of Chicago. Milton Friedman taught there. Milton Friedman is considered the godfather of economics. He is a mastermind.
