O5 rev bar riser question

Just bought an 05 rev 800. Im 6'6" so i need a riser, i am wondering how big i can go without having to extend any cables/ wires on my bars. Maybe i have to extend them no matter what? Its my first sled so any input is appreciated. thanks

Im 6'2. I used a 3 in block riser. If you have the big hoop bars, grind off the tab and bend the bars forward. should be good to go!

so i can go 3 without extending cables? that would be sweet, i have the big hoop bars so ill go see what i can do about adjusting those. thanks mastertech

ITs tight, but you can do it. I have been on 3 yrs now and no problems with cables, wiring or brake line. Adjusting them is simple. There is a little claw looking hook that keeps your bars from moving forward at the base. Grind little by little till they are almost straight up. lot better handling and adds a couple inches in the process!

I ran three inch for two seasons with no trouble, till this season I swaped out to X-package style riser.

In fact I still have it if you need one, powermadd 3" block with the bolts... PM me 25.00 shipped

Thats a good deal.. Im not a fan of cutting it off. It gives you the little more protection from your bars buckling forward if you hit them hard.

i have the 07 I took off the 6 inch riser and put on a 10 inch had to reroute the brake line around the oil bottle had to remove 1 bolt. but didn't have to extend nothing. 4 other buddies have done the same and no troubles but they had to reroute there throttle cable to just look at it there is plenty of room. we just notched the block for the tabe. there is pics of my sled on here with the riser. just look for the post by snowguthrie.

Your handlebar set-up is entirely different from his..

I have 9.25" Mahler risers on my 04 Summit. didn't have to extend anything. may had to reroute a little though. can't remember. I think the stock risers are about 6", so adding a 3" riser would put it about the same. I just like the looks of the Mahlers WAY better. bought them used and sold my stockers for about the same price. can't beat that!

I have a 4 inch on my non-x summit with no extenstions. I did route the brake line around the other side of the oil reservior though.
