it's not ICE hockey first of all!!!!!!!!! it's just plain old HOCKEY!!!!!!!! all other types of hockey get names, like street hockey, roller hockey, ball hockey etc. if the only word is HOCKEY, it implicitly implies that there is ice involved!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you pointed this out, I always laugh when I hear Americans refer to ICE hockey. Canadians know it's just hockey, all the other kinds of hockey are for people that can't skate.

Maybe that is because you guy plays all your sports on ice, so you leave out the word ice? So you got 20% of Hockey if you will, fishing and curling.
