My new Nytro has 500 miles on it and the track paddles are bent over so bad that on hard pack its like its on ice. I have heard of people turning there track around but does it really last or does it just bend the other way. And has anyone talked to there dealers about it. And if you have what did they say its hard for Yamaha to know that the track sucks if they dont get any info from the dealers. So Im just wondering what others are doing. Dont really want to put a different track on a new 10,000 dollar sled.

I agree, mine is bent all the way over also. I am sure yamaha wont do anything about it but they should. I am going to install a challenger extreme on this summer and use the yamaha track for a Door mat, lol.

Challenger extreme.. go with a 2.5" paddle I went with a 2.25" and the paddles are softer and have bent slightly already.. Still a big improvement though...

don't you have to change the underside heat exchanger if you go with the 2.5 paddles? that's what i had heard.

I was told it wouldnt fit without trimming them down abit,,, but apparantly it fits...

I put a 162 challenger on my Nytro and the paddles are bent over MUCH worse than my 04 4000km maverick on my RX
The bending was real noticeable on the first ride
The maverick is an awesome soft snow track

the new claw track will not bend over. Even at high turbo track speeds it holds up. Ran one last weekend and it worked real good. It is a 2.25

700 miles on my C.E. track with no curve or curl on the lugs. Only 5 or so miles were on an icy or hard trail. Running 9 to 11 lbs. of boost.

16in. wide track is a tight fit under the Nytro. It is completely do-able.

Did'nt you just put that on this last weekend? Not to bash just wondering.

yes, and I put about 140 miles on it, most on harder snow and there was no bending of the paddles. I would think 140 mile test is enough dont u? my maverick was bent before i ever left the parking lot on the first ride.lol

Ya, that maverick will bend in a stiff breeze. What is the width of your track?

How did you get this track allready? I tried to pull strings with my cat friends that own dealerships and they cant get one ? Can you hook a brother up???

I do have a stock nytro 153 mav track for sale if you do decide to swap your,s out 300$..

still a 15 x153. this track has fingers (like the old 2.25 finger tracks) built into the outside edge of the big lugs. The fingers are not straight though. They are curved like a paddle tire and are very stiff. This makes the big lugs very stiff on the outside edges and lets them fold a little in the middle of the track for those bottemless days. I have not been around a nytro with an extreme on it. I cannot say it is better because i dont know, but it did help it out alot. I also geared down to 19. I think that helped. I was between 75-80 mph track speed on any hill regardless of snow condition. mostly harder snow but did find some softer:)

Arctic Cat has a part # for it. I was in the local AC shop and he said he had some. So i bought one. I know for a fact he still has a 162. Probably have to order a 153. I bought the only one he had. the 153 retails for 700 bucks.

Call Kale at K-motive and sports 307-875-9205 and he can hook u up.

i ripped my mav pretty much in half earlier this year and just about had yamaha buy me a new track their only out was that i had ported it . im now running a C.E 2.5 156 x 15 and it works awsome and i didnt need to trim any thing to fit the track in there

hey toyzglore why the he** would I put another maverick on when the one I got sucks did you read the post or what? Thanks for all the input but no one has answered my question why is no one calling there dealers to tell them that the track is a piece of crap. Maybe if you guys have so much money you could buy me a new track. I just want Yamaha to know that there track needs some improvements. My dealer hasn't heard of any problems so maybe everyone that has had problems could call my dealer and help me get the ball rolling

50 states, 10 provinces and 3 Canadian territories all with different snow conditions. There have been a number of comments from people that like the maverick track. I myself do not care for it.

What dealer wants to say "Try out this Nytro, the track sucks, but it is worth the 10,500 price tag" Many, many good dealers out there, to be a good sales men, they have to spin things to sound good. At least that must be what the Skidoo dealers are doing:confused:.

Fully agree, My dealer was honest with me and told me the maverick was not going to last on my sled. Atleast he was honest about it being crappy under turbo'd conditions. I think this track is fine on a stock Nytro. Only spins, what 35-40 mph while climbing?

WOW now I KNOW WHY THEY CALL YOU 1MADBIRD.LOL...I was running the maverick track on my turbo for 500miles and no folding at all track is in great shape I guess some tracks just hold up better than others. I would call the dealer if my track was falling apart like the one on my xp wich brp says toughf luck on.. Maybe that should be your post..everyone call my dealer if your track falls apart. I was simply trying to help you out with an inexpensive track fix with a track that is holding up......... Dont hate the player,s hate the game .. peace..

sorry toyzglore just frustrated about this. Is your tack off a nytro I thought that the maverick when it came out on the Apex was great and I havent heard of them having any problems so did camoplast change there track compound to softer for the Nytro or what

just put on the camo 2.5" mountain extreme 162, works great but now cant keep the front end down. ordered heavier springs for the back off apex (heavy spring option) and shims for the back rods to limit transfer and sucked up limiter strap all the way. put on apex rails. running 280 hp, now throttle control is my problem. track fits great, lots of room by the heat exchangers. stayed with 15 wide, problems with tunnel fatigue and drop brackets going to 16 wide. and by the way, there are different maverick tracks, the one stock on the nitro is dual compound, very soft, the one on the apex is single compound, much more solid. and yes even with stock power, the stock track is terrible. talked with yamaha rep, he said call directly to yamaha customer support but didn't say they would do anything probably just help next year's buyers.
