heard that 09 nytros have a plate welded underneath to address the bending issues!anyone hear on this?anyone with 09 want to look.suppose to be a easy fix my sled is a bit out on one side looking at shocks!:(

There are two plates to strengthen the 08 subframe. I do not have any pictures though. I know my dealer is making a bunch for his customers to buy, to fix their 08's.

The other brace is further back, it makes the two bottom main beams connected reducing the amont of flex/bending. Will have a kit with the two braces that have to be welded on available in a week or so.

What is he making, a plate that bolts on or is it something that needs to be welded?

Have you measured from a point on the sled to see how much it is out? What side looks out?

My personal sled ski was out 2 1/8 inches back on the right side compared to the left side. I straightened it and added the supports that the 09 subframe now has. It will have to be welded in as bolting it in just would not provide the strenght these parts will provide. Should have something made up in a couple weeks.

Nytro subframe supports

Let me know when parts are available and cost with pictures.
Thanks Autopro

Just go to your local fab shop and get some 16 ga. or whatever steel from the scrap bin for $10. With a cut off wheel or table saw you can cut out your brace, holesaw the middle and have a shop weld it. It really is super easy to make youself.

There is another brace added back from the one you are talking about, isnt there?

Depends on how much you wanted to brace it. You could plate the entire bottom if you wanted to.

I guess i should have made my question more clear. How many spots did yamaha brace in 09 vs the 08 subframe?

How did you straighten your subframe?

Yes there are two new braces for 09, the one under where the a-arms mount and one that you can not see underneath the skidplate.

To strengthen it I welded a plate like this one (http://www.snowandmud.com/forum/1895-t-nytro/ ) and will be welding the "new" plate that is on the 09 subframes, located under the skid plate that ties the two main low tubes together.

The only ones I saw twisted were using stock shocks? Anyone had a problem with other shocks? I put floats on mine and a Barkbuster front end as soon as I got it. I tweaked one of my spindles and beefed it up but never had a subframe problem. I saw a twisted one the other day, but the guy had no skidplate and had hit a stump or something and had collapsed one of the subframe tubes underneath. I don't think I would ride without a skidplate.

I had Fox Floats on my Nytro when I bent mine.

I straightened it with easy. Neighbours were looking at me funny though. There I am with a 25000 dollar sled tied between my F350 and with the front right lower a arm tied to the back of my wifes Navigator and giving it slight yanks until it was almost perfectly straight. I know it sounds crude and just stupid but that is what I did. And believe it or not it worked. Now I am strenghening it.

We are just trying to figure out pricing on the plates. To water jet for one hour is 250.00/hour. ouch.
