Nytro or Apex

Thinking of jumping over to the four stroke family. Just curious as which is a better sled for the mountains? Going to get boosted of course.

Tough question. If you get the opportunity go to Yamafest or something like that and ride them both, then decide for yourself.

I was a die hard Cat guy all my life til this year when I bought a Nytro MTX (stock). I didn't want an apex cause I didn't think it would be as easy to throw around and jump, boy was I wrong.

After returning from Revy this weekend with my new boosted Apex (THANK YOU DARKO and Berk!!!!!!!!) I have to say I've never had so much fun out there. It was a dream to carve, ***gin insane to climb and a blast to ride on the trail.

Keep in mind my Nytro was stock and this Apex has a few extra goodies plus a turbo but I wouldn't go back for anything.

Just my .02:beer;

From what I have experienced for all out climbing the Apex is still king. With the stock rear suspension the Nitro likes to wheelie so much that it looses some of its climbing efficiency.

They are both great and the Nitro is a blast to ride but if you were to ask me which of the two sleds (both with stock everything except the turbo, and equal rider ability) would climb the best I would have to say the Apex.

I think both sleds would dominate and it would probably come down to the size of the rider's testicles. I know my Apex is a whole new animal after doing the CR Chassis and M10 Live-Axle. Nothing like being able to hold the throttle matted at 19 lbs of boost for almost an entire climb without coming over backwards. :D:D:eek:

IMO you have to ride both and see which one YOU like better. Both are as bomb proof as the other, both have Turbo kits proven to work, boost to boost there dam even, so it come down to chassis pref.

I rode a T apex for 2 yrs and a T Nytro for 1 yr. I still cant decide which i like better, there both fawking sweet.

Haha, glad you liked it. Thats a sweet set up sled.

Cheers

I have a lightened/boosted RX-1 and wife rides a lightened 900 RMK with SLP can, Timbersled intake. I have ridden the APEX and Nytro. The APEX was not enough to make me switch sleds from my RX-1. If I had the money to do it now (new sled, boost, a few light weight mods); the Nytro definately impressed me enough to make me want to switch. Even my wife stated that it was easy to pull over to one ski while making a climb.

i think it comes down to rider. if you can yammafest apex and nitro turboed will be there try them back to back and see which sled fits your riding style

I think I still prefer the Apex for the great powder days. However, for all around riding my Nytro get's the nod and my son pointed out that I don't get stuck anywhere near as often, LOL. I definitely find the Nytro easier to manouever(sp) in the tight stuff(but don't care for tight stuff) Will probably do another Nytro next season.

I love my Nytro, it is working great and is a blast to ride. Now that I have some miles on the sled it is a predictable chassis to ride. Just need to get my clutching dialed in a bit better.

Apex is awesome, boondocking, climbing, and jumping haven't not yet had to say no way to any of it. Best is to just ride them both and decide as everyone is looking for something different out of a sled...

Thanx for the info and your opinions. Will be out at Revy this weekend. Will try and make it back for Yamafest as well.
