Nytro MTX sec clutch setting?

I can't seem to find in the owners manual what the secondary clutch stock setting is. Is it third hole and third hole?
What's been working for better backshift, change to what?
Any special tools needed to make the change?
Do you also have to give it a 60 degree twist? Can a mere mortal do this? :)
Thanks for any help on this.

Its real easy if you are bone stock junk the sec. spring and get an arctic cat purple and set it @0/1 you will backsift much faster and still allow a full shiftout:face-icon-small-win

The stock high altitude setting is 80° (2-6). I turned mine to 90° which I thought was a good change. Never tried the AC purlpe spring

I aso turned my spring up from 70 to 110 and I thought it was a good change also. I am going to try the cat spring anyway. Tunin a 45 degree helix though.

Actually, the manual calls for a stock setting of 70° at 8-10,000' (1/6)

That is what I thought too. The dealer spec book says 70, but the assembly manual and service manual say 80. My sled was the second unit assembled locally. That is where I first saw the spec. My service manual also says 80 degrees page number 2-55. Thank you, I wondered if someone would call me on that.

That is strange... my manual (electronic PDF version) says:

No wonder there are aftermarket companies eh?!:face-icon-small-con

70 or 80 or 110 none will really do it ....esp. on boosted sleds you must have more side pressure, this works for stock as well:)

So what exactly is this spring accomplishing? Similar torsion to the yamaha spring, but more compression? I've always heard of guys using them, but never tried it myself.

spring

i am going to try the cat red/white secondary spring in 0/1 as well, has anyone tried this before i waste my time? Oh and im also running the 8bu-00 primary weights with 4.5gr in tip and 3.1gr in center.

Every one I've pulled apart so far has been set at 1-6,been changing them 3-6 ,it's better but not right yet.

The spring being stiffer and longer is more sensitive to loads(seeing as your sec clutch is load sensing) this is a good thing. :D As soon as it senses a load ie heavy snow, more throttle, steep hill it will backshift and not allow the motor to pull down, pulling the sheaves together sort of like shifting down into second for a hill,,,,with a soft sec spring its like waiting until your engine is almost stalled, and then shifting:face-icon-small-win
