Nytro MTX dislikes

2400km now bone stock and it is the funnest sled I have ever rode. Live in the flatlands but head out to the hills every year and it is the funnest sled I have ever ridden in both areas. May not climb the highest or go the fastest but thats not what I bought it for.

Complaints are Maverick track is too soft, rear suspension is too soft for trails (great in the powder tho), tank is too small, carrying extra gas is a pain in the azz and I've been burning sliders up in 4days of riding (but that problem is fixed now)

All in all, I love it!!!!! I came off a stock M8 and I'll try more things on this than I would with the M. Like other guys said, it takes some getting used to the riding position but once your used to it, it is the most comfortable ride.

Was a die hard Cat guy but totally sold on Yammi's 4strokes.:beer;

So after finally getting ride one for two full days,here's the skinny,got a chance to ride an XP as well,more on that later.

I set it up with a forward rider handle bar set up,changed the clutching, still working on that,but it's better,lifted the suspension to the upper hole,better weight transfer for stock machine,we have an under tunnel exhaust and heavy duty springs from the Apex and cranked up the front ski shocks.

The rider forward is amazing,totally different feel to this machine,much better.It makes the sled so manuverable and nimble and allows you to get over the front more to balance the sled more, this really makes faster trail riding more enjoyable.This sled is so easy to carve a side hill or just change directions. The lifted suspension makes it even more sensitive to thought changes ( that's when you think about changing direction and it does it.)it also makes it climb a bit better,I was trading highmarks with an 06 Rev 8,the Rev 8 out did it but not by much,sneaking through the trees it was better and I credit the track for that,the Maverick is king at going slow without spinning out.

The under tunnel exhaust makes it great for packing gas and luggage or skis and boards,however the 20 liter can is an absolute nightmare to boondock with, and the sound is not offensive.The heavy springs make the sled handle much better at speed, especially with extra weight on the back.

By the end of the weekend,I was sad to give back,the suspension was much better than the XP I rode and the power delivery is better as well.

I was really disappointed with the suspension set up on the XP,it rode very stiff and rough,maybe some calibration would fix that.This XP though has yet to go through a belt and he still had all the guards in place,650 k and still on a 166 belt,truly an oddity.

Linc

man whats going on linc first ride on a nytro:face-icon-small-hapyou been to busy.:beer;

Still could use better shocks,but the fat man Apex springs made a big improvement.

Thanks guys for all of the info. Looking at one this weekend. What causes the wet left foot issue? Can that be corrected? Also, what has everyone done for any storage on this thing? I see yamaha offers a number of bags but I assume they are all fairly small. I wear a pack most of the time but would like to be able to store stuff I never take off the sled like a leatherman, tow strap, flashlight, etc.

Cut holes in the side panels right where the foot wells are,so when you kick the snow it will push out.

Overall I think the Nytro is an incredible machine but I do have a few small complaints.
It is very cold on the trail, the stock windshield offers almost no wind protection. Hand-gaurds are a must.
The rear suspension is way too soft. I have both springs on H and am always bottoming it out.
On the trail the sled takes a bit getting used to. It feels very tippy at first but after a few rides I have learned to really hang off the sled in the corners and it will turn very well, even in bumpy turns.

Trust this helps.
