Nytro Handling in setup snow??

I put the simmons gen2s on and in the soft snow they are great, but in the setup snow it is hard to carve of even side hill. It either lays down or comes over really hard, sort of like an all or nothing deal and it is really unpredictable. Is there a ski out there or even the stock ski that would help with this? I never did try the stock ski. Does going to a 2 wheel kit on the back help? Thanks.

Yep, simmons suck, good for trail riding but nothing else.. I replaced mine with Powder Pros and it sure did make the difference, that was on my Viper though... Good luck.

stock skis

I'm stickin with the stockers.

What you do is the hillclimb racers modification to the outside rear of each ski. You have probably seen it on some powderpros before.

Where the outside of the ski starts to curve back down, cut that edge off all the way to the back.

I'll post some pics later.

Please do.. I am interested in this modification. What all did you notice with the mod? What type of handling changes wrt counter steering?

hmmm like mine just fine really better than stock.no snow flying into my face all the time and much better on the trails after learning not to over steer them.do you have the stabilizer out?

try moving your skies in all the way is one thing to try,i didn't but i never really noticed a big deal side hilling over stock its a yammi and a learning curve might be your problem!i came off a cat and man big time difference!

You can do the same thing as the powder pro skis, just trim the outside starting about 2'' ahead of the spindle in a smooth curve in to the outside keel and from there straight back to the end of the skis. that will make it carve.
The wider ski does induce extra stability but all in all I much prefer it over the stock set up.

Pics, pics, pics. Somebody please post pics, I'm going to die if I don't get'um.

Okay, not going to die, but I still wanna see pics.

Here are some pics of what I did on my skis. It make a big difference on counter steering not so graby. I have run powder pro this way on other sleds and worked great.
