Nytro guy's, have you seen this yet?

Damn, they are collapsing from their own weight!! lol J/K :D Jim, I thought that I was hard on equipment. That's fugged up right there. I hope you at least got a full day of riding like I did.

thats not a yamaha plate. that is one from the skiz company. they call it a float plate. i'm not too fond of the look myself. i have a yamaha accy plate. it gets snow in it too but no where near that amount. ski

I can't find were Yamaha sells a upgraded shock for the MTX. Looks like they only have the stockers.

That is a Sno-Skinz float plate and it is soon to have a sawzall taken to
the excess thats not needed to protect the bottom.

my freinds did the same thing last weekend i posted it, on his we found that the bolt that holds the shock was to tight and would not allow any movment.

I think you got on the wrong Nytro after your get off Jeff. Jim was riding yours on the way out when the shock let loose:D I could have helped get you out a little quicker had I been there. Old DOO belts work as well as Yammy's shocks at smoothing out the bumps;)

LMAO - You may be on to something there Ike - if a guy could find a use for old shredded Doo belts, you could be the next Warren Buffet. No shortage of raw materials. :)

Look at the short track sleds. Same length front shocks. Standard fx nytro gets you clickers and the rtx gets you the floats I believe. I think it is around 850 with the pump for floats (no fat dealer discount). Pretty steep for what you get.

Yes, but I don't think Yami would let me pay the diff. on a shock that is not
designed for this machine. Even though they fit, they are not for this machine. If I was to foot the bill, I would do it, but I don't think Yami would.

I just purchased a MTX at my dealer this week and they let me upgrade to the air shocks for $700!! Hope it works out for you.

Yamaha is replacing both shocks and the a-arms. The a-arms got scratched
when the shocks let lose. Took awhile but they are replacing them.

Glad to hear that Yamaha is doing the right thing.

I just called to double check the front shock length of the Mtx -vs- Rtx. They are differant by an inch and a half. The Mtx is longer. People are putting Fox floats on, which are designed for the Rtx. I am not sure what the modifications requires.

That shock snapping business looks ugly. I have four EXIT shocks on order from ZBroz racing. Replacing the fronts and both rear shocks. The rear is way too soft.
I have heard of the black steel frame bending where the lower a-arms mount toward the back of the machine. This causes the shock to run of center in the a-arm and in some cases hit the a-arm. Its a pretty big job to straighten though.

curious what type of shocks they are going to offer for the rear of the mtx and how much they are going to be.

were you given a time line about when they will be available?

that sucks Jimbo, want me to send you some washers, so that dealer can get it right! :)
