Nytro guy's, have you seen this yet?

Didn't hit a darn thing, just coming out on the whoops and the left one snaps.
I ride the RH side to limp it about 6 miles back down the trail and "Plink" the
right one snaps, both in the same spot at the rod ends. Think Yami will take care of me? GOT XP?

Thats what I'll try to do. Clickers would be nice, I was thinking floats.

As for selling it... not a snowballs chance in heII!!! ;) LOL

i havent seen that yet but, i have noticed almost everyones shocks sit very different between the A arms. some sit closer to front, some sit in the middle and some set closer to the back. i have one that sits close the back and one in the center. cant find anything else bent. gonna look and see if my shock eye(s) may have a bend like yours. did they snap at the weld from the eye end to the shaft at the weld? if so, yamaha should have no issue in warranteeing it from mafg defect. glad they didnt do this when you werent landing a big jump or snapped violently on the trail, could have been ugly.

let us know how you make out. ski

I didn't look it over real well and it's sitting in the trailer 40 miles away. From what I can tell, it almost looks as if the rod is threaded into the rod end and they broke right at the thread.

I'm guessing Yammie will want to inspect those. There's no way your shocks should be breaking at that point with no other impact damage to an A-Arm or spindle. Possible heat treating issue on the shock shaft? Could something have been overtightened on the threads to stress the shaft?

I would think it has to be a warranty item. Hopefully an isolated case...:face-icon-small-sho

I second that yammerhead and can vouch for him it was a trail ride back to the trailer and then bam one went and about 3 miles later the other went and i was only doing maybe 10mph behind him when the first one went as he wasnt wearing goggles so i went behind to keep the snow down.

That sux! How many miles did you get on them? Just curious.. Gonna keep an eye on mine, been riding it hard!! I see floats in you future! Later

Both of mine sit closer to the back. The left one did first and now the right one does. It's not much, but is noticable. I think both lower a-arms are slightly bent.

Here's some pics....

Cracked the trailer and snapped some pics. Almost looks like rust around the end of the shaft where the break occurred.

didnt hit one of thoughs skidoo pinecones? ouch

FWIW, I absolutely DRILLED a rock with mine - took it right between the skis directly on my new skid plate (I installed it less than 24 hours prior :)). Threw me hard and actually bent me somewhat backwards and I landed face down in the snow with the wind knocked out of me. As I lay there contemplating my SAR bill, all I could hear was the sweet purr of my Nytro. I have looked that thing over 6 ways from Sunday and can't for the life of me figure out how it escaped *seemingly* unscathed :):)

Yammer was following me out on the trail - perhaps at 10 - 15 mph when this happened.

Yours isn't the first one to break.I was in our local yami dealer ans saw a nytro with the same problem.I made fun of it at the time ,now i see we may have a problem.Maybe yamaha will update everyone's for some real shocks that actually work!!!!They seem to be the centre of all our problems anyways.
