Nytro diet

What if a guy were to lighten up a Nytro by 70lbs. I was thinking lightweight skid (30LBS less), New VE tunnel (15LBS less), Barkbuster front end (10LBS less), lightweight exhaust (6-10LBS less), lightweight seat (10lbs less), and a 162X15X2.5 track. I do not want to get into turbo's, I want to leave the engine stock. Do you think a Nytro with 70lbs less would keep up with the new 800's out there. I love to boondock but also like to climb and want to keep up with the newer skidoo, polaris, and cat 800's. Don't be afraid to be honest with me. I just don't want to start messing with the engine.

Well that is the question?

Chances are you will keep up better but I could not say for sure how well you will do.
I know that everyone on here tries to push turbos, but there is a reason for that. What you are talking about will cost the same as an MCX kit and give you a 10th of the performance. 12 PSI, premium fuel, very, very reliable! Oh and you will smoke every 2 stroke out there, big bore, small bore, light weight and have yet to come across a turboed 2 that will come close.

Ok back to your question, you will probably see the same performance increase as adding a high compression head to a 2 stroke, you can say it makes "X" horsepower but do not notice much difference!

I did everything you mention except the tunnel. It is definitely noticable but I had done the turbo first so can't tell you with a stock motor.

There is not much weight saving in the seat.

Call Alan at TimberSled. I heard through the grapvine that he has a stock motor Nytro running real strong with all the non motor goodies.

stick a turbo on it and you wont be dissapointed! it just fun to pull the trigger and leave the 2 strokers behind you.

There is no other sled on the market of any size that I would trade for my Nytro.

A diet is exactly what Non-turbo Nytro needs, but the 08 will never climb the way the xp does. The Xp has plenty of problems, however lets be realistic. If climbing is your thing, dont ride a stock Nytro.

If you want to school most everyone on the hill. Put a turbo and a track on a Nytro. The cheesey smile on your face will last all season.

I know a guy that did just that he spen all his money on lightweight, cost him alot too, and i think he now realizes that he should have spent his loot on boost, after boosting weight is almost a non issue!
