Not to start a brand war, but Summit or RMK?

Good informative post!! LMAO

From what I rode in the past, I prefer the doo over the Poo for handling. I guess you have to ride and see what feels better to ride.

As for quality, I believe some of the polaris motors had crank issues, not sure which ones or years... Doo also had issues, with the rings flaking, which is an easy fix.

I know the doo's are heartier when you smack a tree... LOL

Yes the 2000 and I think 2001 800 RMK's have crank issues....ONLY the 800's. I know for sure the 2000 did. The 2003 800 is a damn good sled. My buddy had a 2001 Summit and had all kinds of problems with it....but it could have just been a lemon. I think if you go for a Summit or RMK in 2002 and 2003 you can't go wrong.

How much do you want to spend? My buddy has a red snow check 2001 800. I just saw him the other night and he was talkin about selling it? I think it has like 800 miles on it. It looks like new and he rides like a puzzy so I know its in good shape. Plus I'll go through it for you and make sure everything is as it should be. I'll see if I can dig up a pic or two. I think you could get it for 3k. Pm me if you want.

Avoid the Powder Specials

Actually I wouldn't rule out a Cat either, except those Powder Specials.
Had a 2001 Mountain Cat 800 LE that was an excellent sled, 2001 & up.

here ya go....asking 8499 cdn with a psi 995 motor completly rebuilt over the summer...so thats like ten bucks american:(
