my 08 800 rev xp does not want to go past 7800-7900 rpms no matter what clicker im on. or if i get into deep snow it goes even lower to abot 7400. i have put in less weight into my primary but there is barely if any difference. i went from 19 to 17 grams. i took the sled to the dealer they re flashed the computer and checked the knock sensor. i cleaned my rave valves they are not sticking.
could it be the secondary? please help

Need particulars on your machine. Gearing, clutching, size track, etc.

Could be that your primary bushings are worn out and/or the rollers in the primary are worn out.

Mark is right, need the particulars first....also other things could be the engine or clutches could be out of alignment. Do you have extended warranty? How many miles are on it?

Its worth a little money to get it fixed right so you go have fun on it
Go see dave and have jack fix it for you its worth it they both know there ****
My 2 cents

'07 and '08 800r clutches seem to wear internally very fast. Maybe due to the fact that about 50% of the cranks on these motors are out of spec according to my dial indicator.

Most of the time I end up replacing the moveable sheave bushing, however as everyone else stated there can be many factors or problems giving you those symptoms.

Have you checked your secondary clutch for proper alignment? About 75% of the '08-09 XP 800's that come through my doors need the QRS shim kit or a floating clutch upgrade. This problem won't necessarily give you the low RPM's you are experiencing but it will give you short belt life and high clutch temps, resulting in poor performance.

This heavy, wet snow we have been riding in lately gives a lot of sleds problems but a properly clutched and maintained sled should be able to pull 8100-8200 RPMs all day long regardless of conditions. I have a lot of customers running the DJ clutch kits and they have all reported positive gains and great performance even in this mash-potato snow we have right now.

If you are still under warranty I highly reccomend Team CC out in Eagle River. I hear nothing but good things.

ya i changed my bushings in the primary. i have a 146 track i have the dj clutch kit on and i believe my gears are stock.

BOYS NEVERMIND!!!! I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!! turns out there was a tube connected to the DPM that was just slightly ripped i didnt notice it at first and i gues my rave valves were almost all the way unscrewed well the boot anyways. 16 grams of weight clicker 3 im getting steady 8250 rpms. thank all of you for your input got a three day weekend waiting for me in lost lake!!!!!!! :D
