Hey there guys, can someone let me know what the resistance means on the NGK plastic screw on spark plug boots. I just notice that one says 1 K ohms of resistance and the other says 5 K ohms of resistance. I don't know which one I should be using in my 01 800 rmk with BR9ES plugs.

You should use the 5k ohm boots.

Caps
Resistor caps are just to cut down on RF noise. SLP used to sell non resistor caps as a performance upgrade. The 5k are used on almost all machines to cut down the interferance on the neighbors TV when you ride past his house. They may also affect the newer digital ignitions. The BR9ES is a resistor plug too, that's what the R designates. Just for balance I would change the 1k.
