NGK or CHAMPION?

just curious what everyone runs. i know its all what you grewup on but whats your opinion? my 05 currently has br9es, just looking for some more insite about plugs. thanks

plugs

I have run both and had way better luck with NGK in my 06 900. My last ride of the year I went through 2 sets of Champions and a friend loaned me his used NGK's, my sled ran the best it had all day.

Those plugs are wrong. The heat range is correct, but they are "Short" take the Br9es and compair it to the plug that came in it The Champion RN57YCC... The Br9es is WAY WAY shorter and barely sticks down into the head of the sled. The correct plug from NGK that is the direct cross to the RN57YCC would be the BPR9es. So many people make this mistake.

Ding, Ding, Ding...The correct answer, not just an opinion on NGK VS Champion.

Well also remember that some motors will in fact run better with either projected or retracted tip plugs, depends on many factors,

retracted tip BR9ES, R5671A-9, or BR9EIX

projected tip BPR9ES,R5672A-9 mor BKR9EIX

one thing to make sure of is that u run a solid tip...the screw on type may vibrate loose so just avoid those.

The iridium plug lasts the longest in my high compression race gas motor,but also 8 bucks so its almost a wash aganist the 2 dollar regular ngk.

Some have also run the retracted tip in a "8" heat range as well. in theory stock motors should like the projected tip better

I like the BR9EIX in my wifes stock 700 dragon the best just IMHO tho

go to Sparkplugs.com for some good info and pictures..go to "engine builders section'

NGK works best in my 900 .I have had lots of fouling troubles and NGK last twice as long in my sled.

My sled wont even make it once around the yard with champion plugs. I run BPR8ES's and never have a problem!:D

yo chunky , I'm going to have to throw the flag on that one and put you back 10 beers, no manufacture would let something like that take place, Iv'e been around these things since 1975 and yes years ago champion sucked but with the new ignitions they are better and anything thats the same or better that's made in America is in my stuff

Thats fine! U guys can use what works for u! Im not trying to argue which is better. Im just saying that when i run my sled with champion plugs in it they foul before i can make it to the trail. thats just what happens to me. before the pipe and reflash i ran the champions and they worked great but after the mods they would foul very quickly and then i tried the ngks. i have never fouled an ngk plug so thats what i use. Didnt mean to upset anyone.:beer;

Anyone tried the Denso Iridium plugs? Supposed to create a hotter spark, cleaner burn, more power yada yada... Also whats the story on ignition/plug wires? I'm a diesel guy, don't know much when it comes to gas! lol
