It is a great ride (to Whistlin' Jacks) covering some terrain, lots of logging and skid roads and the infamous ICE HILL climb. I own a cabin two miles east of WJ's and will drop the truck off at the snowpark at greenwater (fs road 70) and ride over the top (government meadows or pyramid pass) and stay at the cabin for a night or two. I occasionally ride with a few guys that head on over to Whistlin' Jacks thursday afternoon/eve's for thier prime rib dinner and then ride back over the top and back to the truck. Great night ride:) It would be fun to get others to ride and check out that area, little naches and manastash ridge/bald mountain. Fun area.

i too should raise my hand up as i'm looking for a group of guys to ride with. i've been riding for 12 yrs, but 1 of which is mountain riding. i pick up technical stuff quick. i rode gold creek last weekend, but didnt go off trail. anyway, figured id let you guys know i'm up for hittin the trails with a few of you.

Well if i may, i too would like to start riding with a group. The two guys i used to ride with got out of snowmobiling altogether so i am looking for riders that enjoy the sport and like to take on a little challenge here and there and put safety as number one. I ride the stampede areas along with greenwater and the little naches areas. I have a cabin down the little naches near whistlin jacks if anyone wanted to ride over the top from greenwater and stay that is also fun. I bow hunt in the teanaway area so i am very familiar with that area but have never snowmobiled it. I would be available in two weeks as my sled is in pieces (new front suspension).

I'd be in...that's a great area...and most of the time i'm there it's jeepin' or looking for big dear or elk...would love to get out sleddin' that way this year too....never taken the M1000 up that way...

Ill put out the word and contact those who have replied on this thread and are interested in riding in that area and set a time and meeting point up at the greenwater snowpark within the next week or so (more than likely after the turkey day weekend) as i am waiting for some front suspension parts to be shipped to me. (front of the sled is in pieces at this point) Chad

You guys are in luck.

The Snojammers got a grant from WASSA to put up signs that detail the trip from the sno-park to WJ's (and back). The goal is that someone who has NEVER made the trip can follow the signs and make it there and back. WJ's and the FS have also kicked in some money to help pay for the signage.

The poles are up (as far as I know) and the signs are being worked on, I don't know the exact time line as to when they are going to be up, but it should be fairly soon.

The maps also show the other trails and are pretty good size, so it should be an easy trip to make now - I mean to say the trip is easy, but once the signs are up, you shouldn't get lost.....

dumb question, but is this the greenwater sno-park you are talking about?

http://www.parks.wa.gov/winter/trails/TrailType=motorized&Region=4&Park=38

Your link didn't work for me. But to clarify: Greenwater is the Pyramid Creek Snowpark - Greenwater is the little town on 410 you pass thru right before you turn to go to the snow park.

http://www.parks.wa.gov/winter/trails/?TrailType=motorized&Region=4

Scroll down to Pyramid Creek for details as to the location of the snow park. Keep in mind, you need to carry chains in case The Matterhorn get's nasty.

^ yeah, we're all good. my link was the same one as the Pyramid Creek Sno Park...So, Pyramid Creek Sno-Park it is. Thanks for the clarification.

Directions: 1 mile east of Greenwater. Highway 410 to USFS Road 70 east for 9.4 miles
Elevation: 2,720 ft
110 spaces.
