Hey guys, I just moved from Michigan and I'm looking for some people to ride with to show me the ropes in the area.. I have a 03' Pro-X 800 with a 151" skid and nitrous.. We don't have any snow at 8K, but there's some up high.. Is there any riding yet on the Western Slope?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason!!

Welcome!! We live in Carbondale and ride Marion and 4 mile here in Carbondale/Glenwood Springs. We also ride Grand Mesa as well. We are not riding yet, not enough snow and the hunters have really tracked it up. So maybe after another snow storm!!! If you are interested pm me or Farmer. Have a good Day!!! Kristy

Unfortunately I know where Marble is beautiful area but how the f*** did you end up there from Michigan..... Its right next to nowhere

I have been riding a couple times on black mesa already. Black mesa is about 2 and a half hours from marble(or maybe longer). Another spot is keblar which is not to far from marble.

From what I have been told for riding in Marble, make sure you have your avy gear and know how to use it. I have not personally rode around Marble, but like alot of areas in CO, can be very dangerous.

Ya, I went jeeping up there one summer and I remember a nasty chute just above the crystal mill on schofield pass.

Welcome to Colorado

Hey man, that was my 2002 800 you were looking at in Grand Junction. (finally sold it by the way) Welcome to the forums, it's a great place to meet people. From Marble, I'd suggest heading over to Kebler/Irwin. Not far and it's one of the best places in the state to ride. Speaking of avalanches near Marble, research "The Cleaver" avalanche path near there. A few years back it ran as one of the largest Avy's documented in recent Colorado history. There are some pictures on the Colorado Avalanche Information Center website. Insane!~

Hey Guys, sorry for the delay...been busy working fortunately.. We got about 6-7" last night so I tried out the new sled around the house. I'll be sure to get in touch with some of you local guys once we get some decent snow.

Corpeleven...I ended up getting a great deal on an 03' Pro-X(like the other one I have) but with a Holz tunnel and 151" skid, so we'll see how it runs....

Thanks everyone for the responses!

Jason

Just don't try and ride the Marble Airstrip or you will be labled part of our "Marble Terrorist Gang" by KurtBlue!

We will be staying above Marble over NewYears and I am originally from downstate MI.

I have done lots of exploring up there, but it is very sketchy in winter.

PM me for more info ...

Sent some PMs to some of you... Its snowing up here and its supposed to continue, but still not enough on the ground yet to do much more than take a few spins around the house.. I will be trying out the airstrip in the next few days... fortunately--or maybe unfortunately--I'm related to the Blue's so we can ride there as long as I ask first... PM me if anyone is going to go riding in the area as I'm not sure how it is up high at this point...

Thanks,
Jason
