NEWB question, Mountain Max front suspension

So I've come across a few sled advertised for sale with mountain viper or other front suspension on them. Whats the details on this? I've never done it and I suppose maybe it was an older mod or something? I feel like a newb but without another sled to compare to I'm sort of befuddled. Thanks, Brian

Viper

The Viper and venture front spindles were 1" longer, and then the tube was longer on the headtube of the trailing arm. Alot of the guys were doing this to get the front end up a little. So you can change spindles and trailing arms to accomplish this. I got a complete front suspension from CB Performance, or you can find new/used Yamaha Parts.

Viper shocks

I had Viper front shocks on a mtn max and that lifted the front end up a little. Never heard of putting different trailing arms on a mtn max.

This^

The only negative is i may be slightly tippier on the trail, lifting with spindles and trailing arms is the best way to lift the front IMO

I put the Viper shocks on the front of my 99 Mtn Max 700. It raised the front a little. I didn't notice a difference in handling.

Another easy mod is removing the swaybar. This WILL affect cornering on the trail but makes a huge difference in sidehilling and powder turns. You can just disconnect one of the front "dog bones" and try to see it you like it.
