Sorry to hear Ron..........Sounds familiar! Except I hit the lottery this time.
I BLASTED a rock new years eve, hit the eject button about 10ft. straight up. I just knew the way I hit it my front end was toast!
After shaking it off I inspected the sled up and down...welds, brackets, under the hood and pipe. NOTHING!!
Only damage was 1 severly bent skag and one not so bent skag on my simmons. Put em' in a press and straighten them out then swap them for the new pair on my 670.
Say what you want, but simmons skis have saved me at least twice now, or that is what I chalk it up to. If I had a standard V keel ski I am sure it would be toast.
