So I recently moved to Rock Springs and don't know anyone who rides, and other than horse creek, I am not sure where to ride. Was told south pass has some good riding?? So can some of you guys clue me in on where I can drive to from rock springs, some place that is not more than a couple hours drive? Anyone been up to south pass yet?
My wife rides too and sticks to the trails, so any info you guys can give me would be appriciated. Anyone here from rock springs?? I frac for halliburton. :face-icon-small-ton

Yeah, horsecreek is about your best bet for now. Only issue for me living here, (RS) is having to drive 100 miles or more to sled. South Pass can be ok riding, but LOTS of land mines, there needs to be a TON of snow to make it safe. My wife and I ride LaBarge and Big Piney once the snow gets better, and Kemmerer can be fun as well. If you decide to head toward Evanston, Bridger valley, go with someone who knows it well, tons of rocks and stumps. We got new pro's this year and have been out a couple of times for break in rides, (horsecreek) managed to get 100 miles in a couple trips. You can pm me if you want, we usually only get to ride weekends, but sometimes I'll break free during the week for a guys day. I'm not a way extreme rider, but a day with the guys is always fun!!

Horse Creek is your best bet. They have a great warming hut! (The Snowpokes built LOL) There's Kemmerer, Upper Green, Big Piney, Sartoga, LaBarge, the Uinta's. As other's have mentioned.

We didn't know where to ride either when we started, nor had anyone to ride with. So we joined the Sweetwater Snowpokes Snowmobile and ATV club. We found people to ride with and some great areas that we never knew about. Usually the guys take off around/off the trail, while the ladies can stay on the trail if they want. Or sometimes the guys take us off to push us a little. We always meet up back on the trail. Every year as a club we do a New Year's Eve trip. This year we are going to Crooked Creek Guest Ranch in Dubois, riding from Pinedale. We take a few other larger trips to Saratoga, Monteplier etc during the year. Then also members just get together for quick weekend or day trips. We have a lot of fun and all kinds of riders. We have some adventures. :)

If you'd like more information feel free to email me. We always love to have new members!

PMed.

Horsecreek and Green River Lakes are the best IMO South Pass can be fun if there is enough but as others said you have to watch for landmines.

There is no good riding in western Wyo. Maybe Tog haven't been there.Blind Bull is spring riding without much under you. Was up there yesterday and its pretty skinny on the snow and a lot of hard stuff the trail will beat you to death.I'm parked till we get a good storm.....We found a couple of places on the north slopes that had some powder. You know its not good when the parking lot on a Sat with lotts of sun and only a handfull of vehicles there......
