New to Polaris, my impressions.

I do like the new pro. I have been on a doo for the past 7 years. 2005 rev then an 08 xp. People keep asking how they compare. Well this thing rocks, it does not feel short on power, it gets up on the snow really well and sidehills better than every other sled out there. I can stop on a side hill wipe the goggles and take off again. Also saving a few bucks helps as well. The clutching is great stock, still surprised how hot they are.
On the downside, cover up the footwells, the clutch gets covered in snow and squeals belts like crazy ( double up some metal window screen and install on the inside of the engine compartment, zip tie it to the toe kick in the foot well, problem solved...why could they not put 2bucks worth of screen in at the factory. The crappy rear bumper, what can i say...the need to put down the scratchers all the time on groomed trails, never had to before, if i dont, the heat climbs ( the trails are not hard packed). Only other gripe is the poor wiring and wire conectors. Nothing on the market will touch the Pro in the trees, I ride with nothing but xp's most of the time and I loved my XP. I am not partial to brands, I will ride whatever I think is going to be the funnest sled....And thats what I bought.
Cheers.....

Interesting what you say about the foot wells. I was once concerned that snow would get to the clutch but I've never had it happen. I ride in the awesome fluff here in Colorado (most years anyway) and have never heard my belt squeal. I suppose it could be a problem for some people though.

Scratchers are a normal "accessory" for mountain sleds these days. Manufacturers are losing a cooler or making them smaller to cut down on weight. These sleds run great temps while in the powder but need a little help on the hard pack. You get used to it fast.

The rear bumper has been fine for me as well. I don't tow with it and only use it to lift the rear of the sled. There are some cool aftermarket bumpers out there.

I don't mean to sound like I'm defending the sled's attributes, but the items you listed really are not problem areas. I would like to see a stiffer shocks (for the fat guys), A better way to hold in the Dzus fasteners (they work, they just fall out sometimes), better boards (no pun intended), less weight and of coarse...more power. Polaris is addressing some of those items next year.
