New to me PRO RMK 800 155”

Dude I love the build! I think you might have just inspired me to finally start off my PRO transformation too!
I have a hookup at work with PowderCoating, and a place near by does hard anodizing so I may go those routes...but I have ideas!

Love the way your sled is looking :face-icon-small-hap

Guys and gals, you dont have to powdercoat for it to last.

A good tip for quality paint for pretty cheap is find a rattle can paint with good rep and have a car-paint shop prime the parts. They should be able to do it in between the stuff they paint, and then your paint will stick a lot better.

Aw man, if that's what you were after, you should have kept the Rev. Much more hood space :becky:

I think what you're going for in the end looks better though.

Man I should have done that to my REV along time ago. Looks sweet.

Any tips on painting the tunnel black? I really want to do that but don't want to powdercoat as I have read about the glue melting on the tunnels on these Pros. I was thinking about painting the tunnel black but dont know how much more work that would entail taking off parts and getting it ready to paint. Really dont have much of a budget to do it either so something cheap would be nice. I am just afraid of it pealing off where my feet are going to be and then looking like crap.

go to artic fx and get a tunnel wrap, they arnt that much and will stick much better then paint..plus will help with snow buildup....

UPDATE

Well i got my sled back from WRP and the boards look awesome. They did a great job. They don't have all the seats done yet but they are being manufactured right now so it will be a few more weeks before I get that seat from them. From the looks of it though it should be a pretty sweet seat. They also made the bracket for the tunnel to give a little added strength to the tunnel where some people have had them bend.

Here are some updated pictures of my sled with the boards and my black panels on it. Still need to get the brackets for the skis but I think i will just get them at the snow show next month. I think it is about done. We will just have to wait and see how it it looks with the skis and seat. But this is pretty close to being how i want it.

sled looks great man!! I like the painted rails. Im curious about using the rattle can. If it works I may do mine! Do the WRP boards seem to stiffen up the boards at all? They look great. If you dont mind me asking how much are they? Do you have any pics of the inside of the tunnel on where the rivet back side is? I want to see how long they protrude into tunnel.

Well to be honest I don't know how much they cost. He needed a sled to borrow to make the template for the wide board kit and I let him use my sled and in exchange he gave me a set for free. Marc is a great guy to deal with. It is nice to that they are within 30 miles of me. Yes they do seem to stiffen up the boards. Although i have still not rode this sled on snow yet so i can say for sure. All the rivets are not any closer to the track then the wheel bracket on the tunnel is. I couldn't get a good picture of it cause my camera wouldn't focus in the dark. i can try to get one tomorrow if i remember.

Check out their site here. http://www.wr-products.com/snow.php

As far as the paint goes I will have to get back on that one. So far they are holding up great. But that might be because it hasn't been ridden. :face-icon-small-win I will post how they hold up this year.

in many instances rattle cans will work as long as the surface has been preped well. did you use a self etching primer?

Looks awesome!!

That looks freaking sweet. You have done a great job. I love that color combo. Doesn't look like the same sled any more. Great Job.

Why can't you just use primer out of can? Is auto shop primer better?

Spend some extra time on the prep work , that is one of the keys to getting a good job. Rush and it'll most likely piss you off

I will get some pics up soon but I painted mine with a rattle can.

Sand everything down, acetone, ETCHING PRIMER, Paint, and about 5 layers of clear coat.
