I'm going to be picking up a 23 Shredder RE 3900 Turbo. Need some opinions on what to do to it. First Gen 5 & First turbo.

I've read some stuff about the skis and switching to DS3/4 (can't remember which). How big of a deal is that?

Figured I'd get a hold of Big John for his clutch kit. Had good luck with his kits in past.

Does the Lynx need the TKI driveshaft fix?

It has the big screen so I've already talked to the dealer about the new gps map update. Might order the new soft glovebox bag since I don't think there's any bag for behind the seat.

Shredder has the 36" front end. Zbroz has their 34" billet a-arm kit on sale until 12/31. Is 34" worth it? Never had that front but rode my buddies 34" and it sure is easy to lay over.

Make sure it has the updated / warranty chain and gears. Then no need for the TKI kit.

May want to get the skidoo expert bars and grips, if not already on it.

The skis are potentially a bit wide.

Love the 34” on the expert for the past 3.5 seasons.

I was under the impression that the lynxs had the hyvo gears already. Possibly just need the tki retainer??

Appreciate the other info too.

have the 34” a-arms on my freeride and prefer it. a member on here put them on his lynx and said he can’t turn the handlebars as far to either side.
I’d see what zbroz says.

I remember reading that too. I think something with a piece on the spindle. Definitely will check with them tomorrow.

They had a Rexnord “copy” of the Borg Warner Hyvo chain. They ended up with funky metallurgy.

BRP went Borg Warner all the way around on the 24+ models.

Just make sure you have the updated gears and chain. There is no charge for it.

Then you should be good to go.

I ended up purchasing a set of float skid shocks. Hoping to lighten it up . I also just picked up a used Kmod to try . Hoping I can get the Kmod in before we head west in February . If not I’ll ride it with the floats . I’ve also picked up a belt drive and alternative impact 34” front end . If I had it to do over I would have bought a summit. The lynx is very heavy and I feel the summit handles better in deep snow

Must me missing something. Lynx has belt drive from factory. Re, ds? Lynx rides better than anything. Just heavy. I get the 34 front end. The rest not so much.
