NEW Team Idler Clutch

Anyone know about weights? Cat making different gram weights for this clutch or no? Stock shows J14-70's. Reason I ask is I have one here on the east coast and need to go 4 grams heavier. I noticed the king kat is running J14-74 stock so would these work?

we were finding the belts liked to keep tension while on decel. The clutch would keep to much tension and squeel the belt more than acceptable. The boys had the demo out in the mtns this weekend. I can imagine temps will be higher with that slipping.

I will try and answer a few questions here. The 18 takes a different belt. It is a 0627-111. I held it next to a 084 and it is considerably shorter. You can use the same weights as the 17. I installed J-14 68 weights in mine for the elevation I ride. You still open the sheaves the same way with the tool as previous.

You mean the 084 is shorter, right?

Hey Ranger12, I wonder if that new clutch fits on your mountain cat crank. I bet you do too. Still gets dark pretty early these days. Lots of time to fiddle in the garage. Man I bet that curiosity is just going to get the best of you. Better try it out.

Assuming the crank to jackshaft distance is the same as the 17', the new belt (111) should be shorter to take up for deflection the 17' belt had and the 18' belt doesn't have.

Can't remember where I saw it, but the 18s had a lower starting ratio. That would require the belt to be longer and sit higher in the secondary to pull a lower ratio from the start?

I belive it sits lower in the primary, soo it has to be shorter.
