is the 'winter recreation area' between the highway and leavit lake closed once they pop the pass or can you still sled up there?

Rode Sonora today.Drove up the west side and parked at the turn off to levitt lake just below the second gate.They have plowed past the second gate but I dont know how far up.The road to Levett is just starting to get bare spots.Coverage was still good and there is about a three hour window of good riding 10 to 1.I would say by the end of next week it wont be worth it.Oh by the way the only other rider we came across was a forest ranger.Money well spent!!

Hey guys. really desperate to do one more ride. I know its wishful thinking but does anyone know if you can still ride up there? (east side). Are you allowed to ride after 108 is open all the way. Thanks

I called the bridgeport FS office yesterday with the same questions. The whole winter recreation area won't be open once they pop the pass. He was pretty sure they were closing it in the next day or two. He said they already have too little a snow depth to legally keep it open and that the road to leavitt lake was already showing a bunch of mud.

If all those north facing zones are melting, I can't imagine the south facing strip on the north side of the highway looks too good either.
