New Sno Free Sled Board for RX-1 / Viper - wider, stronger, less snow, more traction

Just about have a totally new product ready for RX1, mountain viper and perhaps other mid - 2000 Yamaha's - have to check on fitment for other models. Unlike anything else out there.

This is a totally new design that will widen the running board to full width for over 2 feet, then taper back to stock width at the rear foot rest - It will add openings and cleats, along with cleats along the outer rail. Overall strength should be excellent and improved over stock, the pictures will show a unique feature that will significantly add to the strength and traction. Installation should be pretty easy with no major dis-assembly, just cutting and riveting. Will be available powder-coated in color of your choice.

Stay tuned to this thread, will post pics as soon as we have the first set installed, hopefully by the end of next week. We'll do some quick testing and get into production this spring.

I'll second Castlesledder's observations... I've been in the loop on the design and this is going to be the E-ticket for us RX-1 owners. Stock boards suck so bad- way too slick and narrow. These are gonna be great!

As you can see by the huge font - I am excited about these and couldn't wait to post until I had pictures, but stay tuned, there will be pictures soon !

No teasing - just waiting to get parts back from the CNC cutter later this week - hopefully pics by the end of the week.

The plan is to leave the exchangers under the running boards - won't even have to remove them to install, with a little careful cutting.

As far as the warrior - I need to find some more Yami's to compare. From what I can find out, and what I've seen so far, I think (I need to verify) that all of the RX-1 Chassis have the same running board configuration, and so does the SX Chassis.

:)

A picture

Finally, a picture - will install this week with more pics to come. Should have installed a set today, but went riding instead !

Price for these is coming out at $220.00 powder coated plus shipping. On the RX / SX Sleds, you will utilize the factory rear foot rests / give me a couple more days and it will all be clear with installed pics.

Another Picture -

Getting closer - by this weekend we will have two sleds installed and in testing, if all looks good, will offer for sale by first thing next week.

Here is fitting on 2005 SX Viper - (will be powder coated prior to final install)

Installed Pics !

Installed two proto-type sets today - one on '05 SX Viper Mountain 144, and other on '03 RX-1 - 144. We finalized the design today (with the help of an aeronautical engineer) and I think we have the answer. Will test both sleds tomorrow, if all is as well as expected, will put on the website Saturday morning and be available for order / purchase. Stay tuned for update tomorrow eve.
