Just one question, Why the diamond plate? Yeah it looks kind of cool but wouldn't regular smooth aluminum plate shed snow slightly better?

I was using the diamond plate to provide a bit more traction up front, and it is a material I have on hand for other projects. As far as shedding snow, when they are powder coated, It hasn't made any difference that I have noticed compared to the Yamaha boards I make with smooth material.
