New Ride?

just buy it already.its going to be an awsome sled.doesnt matter what anybody else thinks they wont be ridding it,if its what YOU want, thats all that matters.if you let somebody else talk you out of it youll be wishing you had one every time you see one on the snow....ive been there before..

Plus you get a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty.
that's great, your new sled can sit on the shop floor in pieces and not cost you a dime in labor or parts.

Plus if you are not happy in the first 12 months you can trade it in and polaris will give you a check for $1000. So you might lose a total of $1000 in this scenario. I will lose at least that much if I hang onto the XP another year.
The min you take this thing off the floor at full retail your going to loose at least 3k in depreciation, plus if this thing is anywhere as bad as the 900, your not going to get anything in trade for it.

what dose that mean you can trade it in I'm lost
you pay 11,000 trade it in get 6,000 and another 1,000? and what are you gonna trade it in on? i like the new poo's but i don't get what there saying

Let's say I do pay 11k (I won't, but lets just say that I do). Trade in won't be anywhere near 6k. Let's say trade in is 8k, polaris pays me $1k so my actual cost is 2k for the year. Now nearly everybody on this site is gonna spend $500 -$1000 on aftermarket parts for their sleds plus their value will go down at least 1k this year. How is my loss any different?

Plus when actually looking at the cost of a sled, the retail price isn't the actual cost. Your cost is the difference between what you pay for it and what you sell it for when you are done. This is depreciation and your actual cost on the sled. Interest is also a cost if you put it on a loan. While you own it, it is just a depreciating asset.

You nailed it. Plus you can only use the trade in credit for a Polaris product.:face-icon-small-con

That's easy though, I have more ATV's and snowmobiles to buy for the business. Even if I decide to go with another brand for a personal sled.:face-icon-small-ton

That's the problem, I am not 100% sold on it being exactly what I want. A big part of me says hell yes I want that sled and another part keeps telling me no.:face-icon-small-dis

I don't pay full retail for any sled/atv/parts ever. I am pretty sure Polaris won't make another mistake like the 900 again. I think that even Polaris is smart enough to learn from that sled. If in a year from now I am wrong, feel free to laugh and make fun of me all you want.

I don't know. I would never buy a first year sled. Why spend good money to do their R&D. i would wait and get one next year if they pan out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. JMHO:D

i think they are an awesome sled and should run very well. Id get one if i had the chance. I will just wait for everyone else to buy it and take the loss then i will buy one :)

Seriously!!!!!

04 Cranks
05/06 WTF, bought a vibrator
08/09 Piston Fail

Yep. Polaris will never steer you wrong. Giddy up cowboy.

Put me on the: I told you so list right now.:face-icon-small-blu

None are perfect but minimize the loss and/or mistake.:face-icon-small-win

Bunch of Poo haterz out there!
Sure the 900RMK was a vibrator, but polaris stood behind their warranty well (yes I did miss 3 good weekends the winter of 2007 :( )
But, the RMK Pro seems like a game changer.

If i didn't lose 4 grand on my sled this year I would be getting a pro, they feel like a dirt bike!

Polaris as a company is in a totally different spot now than they were 5 years ago, I have faith in their R and D on this sled.

I'll stand on the "told you so side" on the favorable side of polaris.

But really, who cares, lets just ride! ( we need some snow)

So what your saying is YES???

Your SOLD. I was trying to help you out.:face-icon-small-win You said to talk you out of it. No warm food for you on the hill. To bad. To bad. :face-icon-small-dis

I am not sold yet. But if I do I know you will share your warm food with me.:hungry:

Sounds like somebody's been burned a few times.:flame: And all this coming from a guy who is now gonna have to pack an extra 50 lbs of tools with him "just to be safe"....haha.

In 08 I had a gut feeling not to get the new xp. I wanted to and could have, but chose to buy another 07 rev (after I had just sold my 07 rev in the spring) and was glad I did. This time no gut feeling telling me no. But again, I am not really sold on this whole thing yet, but it sure is fun to see peoples reactions.

I actually really appreciate people telling me NO. It helps me to look at all options before pulling the trigger or not pulling the trigger.

The hard part is I know I'll be happy on my xp for another year, but would I be happier on a pro? Who knows. I'll keep banging it around for a week or two.

2:02am??? You up changing diapers or is this sled thing keeping you up?

You may actually find me back on a Polaris in a couple years but it will have to be on a gently used 2012. Assuming you give them enough feedback that will allow them to make all the necessary improvements.:face-icon-small-win

In all honesty I wouldn't hesitate to buy one other than the first year hit you'll take. But hey, it's only money. You can always make more.:face-icon-small-hap

See if they'll throw in a Tow Buddy for the days you ride with us.:face-icon-small-con

LOL This is the same argument that i had with my buddy before he bought his 08 Dragon. After a bunch of days in the shop and the updates in 09 he told me that I was right.

Well it wasn't "5 years ago" he was talking about the 900

All i can say is "Blind faith in the unknown"

Good luck with your choice and remember.........Ride it like you stole it!!!!:face-icon-small-coo

You could find a sweet cat turbo for the price of the polaris and the turbo would destroy it and they ride awesome. The polaris looks great but I have three concerns with it. Price, Too tall and underpowered. I can live with the tippy polaris handling but Im betting they will bump the hp next year and also make reinforcements to the chassis weak spots. next year would be a better choice imo.

somebody just needs to get their Pro and put 1000 miles on it by november 30th and report... that would be a good help.

i saw a new pro and a new assault 155 go back in march (see "stocker day" in the Schooled Again video) and they kicked *** that day. They were "prototypes" and seemed a little too strong on power to be a production sled BUT on that given day, i was convinced. I have an 09 cat and its gonna be a season or two before i upgrade but if i was ready to upgrade now, there is a good chance it would be one of the new poo's. I agree with the whole "waiting to see how they turn out" idea but in the in the end, it sounds like you are gonna do it anyway! There is one question you asked which is a question that has talked me out of buying lots of stuff for this upcoming winter.. "is it worth the money, am i gonna see x dollar amount "increase" over what i have?" the answer is no. Do people really get 1500 dollars worth of increase on putting an intake, exhaust and fuel box on their 800? just to highmark a few more feet or have "crisper throttle response?" Does losing 6 pounds and spending a grand on lightweight front end really make your sled that much better? of course they dont. on the other hand, people like spending money on their hobby and if you wanna spend money on your hobby by purchasing a new sled, then by all means, go get one!

Well, I did it today. I got the call on Saturday that one of the Pros (snow check) had fallen through and they had one available. I hope that I don't get too much grief from my peeps, but I spent all day today trying to make up my mind and I just couldn't do it. I couldn't quite pull the trigger. I don't have a lot of time to make my decision as they have a list of buyers for fall through snow checks. I need to let them know by tomorrow sometime or they give it to someone else.

Why don't you just get it and ride. Then let us all know how it really is. Somebody has to do it!
