New reflash for idle

Just my .02
I know for sure there is one out already- maybe this is a second???
According to my fine dealer the first was not a fix- for our poor idle... to just wait...I hope this one maybe to end all issues-that haunt some..not all.

I really have found over the years... that when a re-flash comes into play-and possible another
(like the M1000 Cat)... You end up finding out that the initial settings from when you got your sled were better cause they always end up trying to correct one thing and have an idea that we should and try have done another..making a new demon show it's green eye..
Maybe not- but I for one will wait in the dark to see what the returns may bring before we do the 5 in our stall.
Again..... JMHO

Yeah i've seen that as well first hand, back in 2006 I bought a BMW k1200s this thing was a beast right from the get go, really cool bike with tons of bottom end, real fun to wheeelie and such. oh reflash to correct some BS issue in the mapping.....ppppffftttt there went the violent/fun bottom end. They had 3 other "corrections" that got some of it back but the initial mapping worked best no question :bowl::bowl:

reflash

First reflash was for 155 models that could have had wrong gearing in the computer causing speedo to be off.

the new reflash coming is for idle and start issues, it is suppose to be available for dealers to load after march 2nd

Had mine in for a tps adjustment, they said the same thing, new flash coming Tuesday.
Cautious about getting it for the same reasons as listed above. Sometimes the original is still the best.

If anyone has it done, post results, might be helpful to some decide whether they should do it or not!!

reflash

the refllash is for stock non adjusted tps if you flash a sled that has had the tps adjusted you will get a high idle.Set a few already to polaris specs,

Of course, why would they pay to have the tps properly set! I did my own and it was pretty easy! Just removed some plastic and slid the air box back! Do get me wrong because I love my axys but $13,000 dollar sled should be able to idle at high altitude!

these sleds were all done under warranty. No cost to customers, due to low idle and not going into reverse

I think the point is Polaris is re-flashing the ECU to mask over the symptoms of the TPS' they delivered out of spec from the factory. And are doing so only to save the company some money compared to paying their dealers to set the TPS under under warranty. ECU Re-flashes like this have lead to performance losses in the past and could here as well, especially for those who've taken the time to set their TPS properly.

Exactly my point! Thanks

So now your going to reflash an ecu for an idel issue and then someday the tps will need to be changed out because it went bad and then when you set it to spec it will idle to high, yep sounds like a bandaid! I actually like doing this stuff myself because I want my sled to run even better!

Just because the TPS is not set to spec does not mean that its service life will be any shorter. Its still receiving the same 5v input. Just putting out a slightly higher or lower signal. Polaris could easily develop a viable ECU flash that could produce a good idle and easier starts/reverse shifts just by allowing the TPS baseline and idle specs to be a little wider. All the while not ruining any other parameters of the flash. They are not out there to ruin their own product by magically taking away all the power and throttle response. Its a simple software update not a secret government plot to end all snowmobiling.

I should have stated that a little differently, I was just referencing that if the tps ever went bad, that was in no relation to the reflash, yes I know that it will still have the same 5v reference from the ecu, but if all of the tps's aren't set to the same spec then even the reflash isn't going to cure them all! I think that its stupid to have some sleds running around with a reflash and some not when the problem can be completely cured with setting the tps to spec! Your right its not a secret government plot its just a way for polaris to keep from spending money! I would almost be willing to bet that there isn't even a service bulletin out yet! Hell my dealer even tried to tell me that the tss was the problem even after I had adjusted it and cured the problem!

Now I can tell everyone that I absolutely my 162 2.6 axys chassis, yes I had to set it up to my liking but don't we do that to every sled we own!

I have the reflash...stay away. I would rather deal with the intermittent idle challenges. My worst problem was an occasion need to burp the throttle and then it was fine.

The fueling changes made my sled feel significantly different. Not nearly as snappy on the bottom end.

I have the reflash and I agree that it is not as aggressive on the bottom. I will probably have them reinstall the 16 map when they replace my right running board (paint flaking in non wear areas) this week.

Tried to talk my buddy out of it but...... he now suffers from a weaker bottom end with the same clutching as before- so... going to try to work that out of it.-
Re-flash seems to always change to much when we want to fix only one thing-
Wonder what mapping the 17's have in them!!!

Also if your TSS is giving you fits the pigtail plug that LoudHandle on here sells- DOES fix those issues- and put's that issue to the grave.

As I understand it, the reflash is the what is in the 17s.

I am having them put the 16 map back in my sled. It only had an intermittent idle issue when cold and started hard once when it was 5 degrees out. I can live with that to get the bottom end snap and slightly higher top rpm. I think that I was off 100 to 150 rpm of where it should have been. It just felt a little softer throughout the rpm range but was especially noticeable on the bottom.

dropped mine for reflash few weeks ago. no snow around here so i just picked it back up. kinda sucks that i even took it in after reading these posts. ugh. i was in love with my motor/power but i was having idle issues...now its spring here and i can't test to see how much it changed with the flash.
