So with our 13's we could just un-glue (torch) the a-arms to remove the aluminum ends, cut the center pipe and re-glue? Shortening or changing shocks and tie rods of course? Who goes first?

I think that a gross oversimplification of it. I would bet the sockets are not that sloppy. As you narrow or widen the ski stance the angles will change quite substantially and to get good strength, you do not want a sloppy socket. It may be possible to get an inch narrower or wider but think that would be a push. You would still have to build the upper arm as only the bottom one is glued from my recollection.
