I want to know if people would frequent SML if their was a new owner who is an avid sledder and catered to sledders, lower gas prices, opened a bar,and strived to make it an enjoyable place to be. Please Poll

Also you may post your concerns if you feel the need too. I would love to know your point of view on the matter.

Why wouldn't we if what you mentioned became a reality? Is this a trivia question?

My guess is no trick question, someone wanting real input. Of course if run the way most think is the right way they would frequent the place quite a bit. I also read that if it's not most sledders perfect world they start complaining. My boys and i ate there almost every time we were out. Hope to see the place reopen. You have my vote, buy the place:beer;

use it or lose it

Unless someone is willing to put their money where their mouth is, shouldn't the question be would everyone rather have a poorly run lodge with access to gas and food or no lodge at all at Green Rock! The latter is probably what we are going to get this winter!

It's just a question, not trying to offend anyone.

I will tell you the results would be overwhelming if it was ran right again.

absolutely, u give good service and a reasonable price and u will succeed... iwould take all the souveniors out give them to skiwiz (that way i can make more room for people) and open her up ... look at albany lodge, its doing pretty good. and its 2000 ft lower ,i would make all the cabins w/running water ,satelite, have a conveience store..
there are more sledders coming out of green rock then there are albany , and if u want to come from albany up top u have a 18 mile scoot just to libby flats, its hard to do this and play up top with out getting gas so u can potentially pick off customers from albany during the day for gas ,food and drink. just like the place does over at ryan park.
also mountain meadows is even less commercialized and they are full all the time,in fact when i stayed @ mountain meadows there was times i w ould ride down at nite to sml to eat dinner...

I've always supported SML in the past. I thought Connie did a great job and we never had any problems with our service. Yes, the prices for food and gas were rather high, but what can you do! No competition that far up the mountain. Open the place up a little more, cheaper fuel and food, and maybe a bar with a few tv's to watch sporting events and I think an owner would be in much better shape. The Red Fox Saloon in Togwotee Mountain Lodge has all the above mentioned and every time we go in there people are there! Hope this helps;)

What are you fishing for???? Sounds like someone wants to invest into the lodge But first get some input... to me More power to ya if so.

We stayed at Mountain Meadow Cabins last year and are set up to stay there again first week in feb. Last year we got gas and food there every nite. So, reasonable gas price, hot food, a beverage by the fire would be cool. Good service goes a long ways. You'll never please everyone.

If some one owned that place that liked to have fun, and wasn't worried about just making money it would be an insanely great place to go...keep money in your customers pockets and you wont ever have to worry about it being in yours...

Doo it

If I had the money or even close i'd be all over that place. That place has a prime location. If sounds like it needs quite a bit of work, but if a person came in with the intentions to actually follow through and get it set up properly, it could be a gem.
Throw a strip club in when your remodeling.

Problem is that it has been through a ruff few years. Hard to invest in something that you don't know what it'll do. Sounds good but sometimes it isn't as good as one would think. If it was that good i would own it and be there right now. Hope someone buys it but it won't be me.

Gold mine

I think the place would be a gold mine. It's the best location in the Snowies.
It needs some TLC and remodeling (like a bar!), but mostly, it needs to be run by a snowmobiler that wants to cater to snowmobilers.
