New polaris four stroke

Heard from a local dealer today that polaris is releasing a new four stroke in february. with a totally new engine with a turbo or supercharger in a rmk chassis. he says its going to be pretty cool. has anybody else heard this?

Not that I've heard around but I'm gonna talk to my dealer Monday, makes me kinda curious though.

Nothing down here Howie. I'd be nice if it weighted less than 550 lbs.dry though. FST's haul a$$ but are heavy and in a poor mountain chassis.

From what I have heard, they were going to release a 4 stroke RMK last spring but they were having a heat problem.

If they can solve the heat problem and get the weight down, I would buy one.

Gosh it just kills me that polaris doesnt get the aftermarket, hill climber, aggressive boodckers point of view.. They are claiming the "new 4 stroke turbo" (Looks exactly the same as the old fst750 to me) falls right between the apex and the vector. Yeah except the yammi is 140 hp without boost and the vector is the same. So when you go buy a yammi you spend more but once you get the turbo put on your making insane power. Why cant polaris see this market and build a 1050 fourstroke? If they are worried about it being to much of a liability then dont turbo it from the factory. Obviously yamaha has the people in the right places with a little free thinking and an open mind.

Polaris just keeps pounding out the same stuff and putting "new" in front of it... I really want to see a larger displacement 4 stroke that weighs an honest 540 pounds right off the factory floor. I would buy that sled in a second!!

Be in mind that it is still a twin, but I agree completely they need to market a larger displacement four-stroke. Isn't the FST's 750 motor the same as the MSX watercrafts engine? What about upgrading to a larger turbo? I'm not even sure what is on the FST as of now, but what about MCXpress's 16T or 18T Mitsubishi Turbos? The raw chassis would be perfect if they could figure something out. Maybe they need to hook up with one of the major Four-stoke MX companies.

Polaris four stroke

What this dealer said that its suppose to not just compete with
yamaha but blow them away and he sales yamaha. He also said polaris is very tight lipped about anything specific.

Blow yamaha away??? God I would love that but I sure dont see it happening. Especially with the little 750 twin. Unless they come out with a larger displacement 4 stroke they are going to be playing catch up to the other manufacturers. Both doo and cat have larger 4 stroke motors in there trail sleds (doos 1200 4tec and cats turbo 1056) and it will only be a matter of time untill they drop these motors into mtn chassis. I just hope and pray polaris doesnt keep trying to stay in the low hp market..

PLEASE polaris build a big hp sled to compete with the other manufacturers.. Forget about what happened with the 900 thats history just throw your hat in the ring and try!!

sure hope the "new" fst is on a weight watchers program....near perfect fst rmk would be a 160ish hsp, tipping the scales around the 500 lb mark(450would be better)...the fst out there now are draggin around a lot of dead weight, that could be eliminated....know one thing, who ever comes out with a (factory )liteweight four stroke turbo mountain machine first, is gonna clean up on the market...not sure if poo has the nuts to do this though...

there is a new 4stroke engine for polaris snowmobiles.
a german company build a engine for polaris and last news i have, this engine ROCKS.

But like any other GOOD engine, polaris need time to build a perfect 4stroke snowmobile.

Its good to be NOT the first one on the market but to have the best products.

The FST engine is the same engine out of the watercrafts, made by A.G. Weber of germany. No roll over switch, and plastic waterpump gears finished off their watercraft line, Polaris farms alot of stuff out, hard to have Q.T. when you don't build it yourself.

well they should start that then... the later 700/800 seem like decent engines but did they not also release a 900 and this FST750...so i would highly disagree on the best poducts..but i sure hope someone mans up with a proper factory hair dryer... 8lbs of boost and 200hp is not unrealistic or unrielible.. they been sellin 140hp two smokers for years that aint ever going to live as long as a large HP 4stroke turbo!!!
