Well finally got this sled out to the mountains last week and all in all it worked pretty good considering I've done 0 set-up on it. The kid ripped around for two days on it.
Anybody got any ideas as to what would be good clutching for this. It's got a Mountain Max primary and secondary. I haven't even looked at the springs etc as I just planned on replacing them. From riding it I can tell for sure the engagement is too high and it is getting pulled down on hills. I don't know what it is pulling for peek RPM as I don't have a tach on it yet. What I need is a ball park gram weight for the primary and I can go from there.
Helix and secondary spring? If I remember correctly it's geared 21 39 which IMO is too tall. I'm thinking maybe 18 39?
The motor is a 2000 Phazer fan with an Aeen pipe and 38 mm flatslides. Right now it's jetted with 152's or so. I need to figure out an airbox or filter system as there isn't much room with the tank moved forward and the steering post where it is now.
Did a bush league weigh in with the bathroom scales and it is about 370 dry. Not bad considering it's got mechanical reverse.
