new MPEM running rich

02 summit got new MPEM now running rich?

Had to put a new MPEM on my 02 800 summit now it is running realy rich,almost ran out of gas in 60 miles. plugs are black and wet and my midd.range is realy soft. is this common when the mpem is changed ?do i have to rejet or is it in a"break in" mod?any one have any ideas?

that would be a great question for the dealer to answer. Im thinking it may just be like a new sled having the limiter to how much power the engine can make until X amount of hours or miles

i asked the dealer "tec" that very question i got a stupid look and a i dont know ,and the best answer yet is it all hooked up& right? he was the one who put it in! @!$@#$% not the answers i was looking for from him

02 800, mpem controls ignition timing, not fuel. fuel is controlled by the carbs. If you are having a rich running condition after changing the mpem I would suggest that you are having an issue with the dpm. I would start there. The dpm leans the fuel mixture so if its not working properly it will run rich.
