New info On 09's

According to Supertrax mag.....nothing new in the Apex lineup ( graphics ) spring order Nytro RTX SE has the race tunnel and better fox floats with a resevoir..You can also get a 126hp version of the 1050cc in the touring sled but not the vector ( yet )

Apex touring sled
Nothing with big new hp
Fox float shock option on rtx line up including the rear shocks on apex/nytro/phazer
Lotsa BNG
same ole for mountain guys but se has floats in the rear
144 xtx nytro but that has been out for a while.
Might be a little more forth coming but not a lot; this is most of it. :D

If that's true I will be dissappointed in the Yamaha lineup for this year. The competition isn't sitting still. I don't know how they feel they can with just some relatively minor changes.

something new to replace the apex chassis is my guess. 5 more days??

everybody wants yammi to just drop a bomb of a sled that will walk all over the compitition but it seems yammi is always happy with small steps. i would be happy if they put a good set of shocks on the mountain sleds i can get all the power i want from a turbo, a factory sled will never do what we do now with our turbo sleds what company is going to release a 300hp sled stock:D:beer;:beer;

I like the Baby steps approach personally, that way we dont get stuck with a POS rushed to the market sled.............. not mentioning any name's (cough BRP, cough cough XP).

I will be disappointed if all there is a sh!tty fox float shock option, UNLESS Yamaha has hired someone to valve them properly. Nothing against Fox floats, they work great if the valved correctly, but the version Yamaha handed out the past 2 years on the Apex were a joke. Cant wait to try them out, the Nytro's only flaw in my books was the sh!t suspension, if we get floats dialed in from the factory, i'll be stoked !!

Forgive me, Because I don't ride Powder, but in all that fluffy stuff can you really notice a difference in shocks or valving?

I am really interested in your answer.

I ride on hard pack most of the time, studder bumps, moguls etc. and shocks are everything to us, It can make or break your Back :D

Yeah. Come on Snow White (gotcha):D lets hear how much you liked your floats on the Apex!:mad::beer;

How do you suppose one gets to all that fluffy pow? 15-25 kms of motocross track like trails is how !!!!!

is it ain't broke, don't fix it....since nobody is capable of breaking a Yamaha, we'll be riding the same sleds for the next 10 years ATLEAST...doo will have to come out with a new chassie twice a season just to keep up....

On a serious note though, I'm not dissapointed. I was wishing for a totally rebuilt Apex plattform, but, the Apex is just too good of a sled to change out yet. Give it another year of perfection, and wait til 2010. Gives us another year to save up the funds, or blow it all on a turbo for the Nytro(I know I'm going to)....

Ummmmm, yes totally. We dont unload out of the trailer onto 3 feet of untouched pow. (Unfortunatly lol) Half the time were riding 15 to 28 km's in 2 foot mogals on a sled thats 11 feet long. Suspension is 80% of how a sled will perform in the mountains, i like a well rounded sled good for all aspects of mountain riding.

Even climbing vertical hills, there not flat, theres dips, compression zones etc, contrary to popular belief there is a serious tech side to gettin up and over. If your suspension sacks out you get all fu ggin squirly, lose momentum and next thing you know your sleds rolling down into the trees or rocks.

Answer, YES. You mentioned back breaking, ride your bumps with 162" track with sh!t stock shocks, you'll know how we feel.

Dont even get me started how sh!tty Yami's valving was on those. :)

I hope they bring some entry level sleds to the table. Some nice little fourstrokes, one for the little guys, and another till they are big enough for the phazer. Seems like it would be a good move for Yamaha.

Amen! :D I'm 13, I love Yamaha. But let's face it, They don't offer a competative Mountain sled for kids.

Don't think he was probing about the valving on the shocks as much as the name snow white (and the seven dorks) Baker about rolled off his chair telling us about this story about you. fill us in??

Hey Darko,

I guess you have to considder how many XP's are out there versus the competition. I know in the west kootenays revs in general, including XP's out number the other guys buy at least 4 to 1. Many of which are XP's. I for one have had very minor problems, mostly setup issues, and have over 1000 km's. Most other guys I ride with have had no major issues either with similar mileage.

I do like the yammies, especially the nytro with a some pricey mods, but that allways comes at a cost. Maybe one day, but untill that day I will be riding my usual 4 years and trading up to somthing new.

Oh yeah, thanks for clarification on the mountain sled suspension setup. :)

Chaz
