new FIX IT thread please

I plan on leaving the starting gear on for now. I know they are in high demand and a lot of people like to leave them on even if they don't have electric start. I'm also probably not going to take out all the wiring for the electric start, just zip tie it off. By taking off the electric start I meant the little motor that’s under the exhaust and the bracket it is in, along with the bracket by the clutch. All the worthless weight I don’t need since I removed the battery. But thanks for letting me know! I didn’t even think about it changing the balance. Will keep in mind if I ever remove it! :face-icon-small-hap

Fix Kit installed! I decided to go with Arctic Blue for break in. The sled started up very nicely on the 3rd pull. The engine is noticeably crisper sounding with the hood off. I completed all 3 heat cycles. Currently a 1/2 a mile on the kit from driving around the yard and so far so good! :face-icon-small-hap Very pleased with it… now I just need more snow…. :face-icon-small-con

I have a electric starter and get alot of **it from freinds. I took the stock battery and holder off. I installed the small KTM dirt bike battery and holder in it. This only gets me about 6 cranks of the motor but that starts it most of the time after its warmed up. I also use it to keep the GPS powered up when stopped.

the fix

After having my cylinders honed and having the piston too cylinder wall clearance checked and everything being on the low end of the specs I decided to install my fix kit. Got her all put together one heat cycle than did a compression test......both cylinders read 155 lbs of compression on each cylinder, before with the updated piston it only made a 117 each hole with the same compression gauge. Strike any red flags 40 pounds is quite a bit of change? DETO? Wut do you guys think

Just put 60 miles on with the fix kit. Sled runs phenomenal! I can’t tell a difference in low end power but once you hit +6500 RMPs this thing rips more than it ever has! Still in the break in period so I’ve been taking it easy on the motor. I have the latest reflash and there hasn’t been any lean or bog spots. Due to the lack of snow in Minnesota all these miles were put on a lake with the scratchers down and breaks in the riding to cool off the slides. Hope we get some nice snow soon :face-icon-small-con
