There's no bad dogs, just bad owners.
Your line of thinking only works on inanimate objects. if it has a brain, it can and will make mistakes.
Been around animals my whole life. Never seen a perfect one. Even when the animals we're professionally trained, Law enforcement dogs, show horses, pack horses, pet horses, inside family dogs and cats. To say that you can have perfect pet would mean you have to have a perfect owner. And unless your mafesto, well it's just not possible.
I actually had a perfect dog... recently lost him due to congestive heart failure.
how was he perfect? we had a broken home for a while. we used to have an abusive stepfather, but a loving dog. My sister is special needs, and he would sleep in her room at night. he would wake up multiple times at night and spend about an hour sleeping at each bedside in each room, watching over everybody, then return to sleep in my sisters room. when there were other guest dogs, he would let them eat first, out of his bowl. when they're done, it's his turn to eat. he, plays fetch, runs with you, he doesn't beg, herds cattle, and comforts when he senses we're not comfortable. best of all, he didn't poop in the yard. he would always do his business in the tall bushes and grass on the outside of the yard. and guess what? we didn't train him. at all on anything but sit for treats. he would even naturally heel at your side without command. he was quite a blessing.
I don't buy that it is how the pitbull is raised at all. I have been running springer spanials since I was a kid, about 8 total. about half had hunting instinct 100 times better than the others. no way in hell I would have a pitbull or a Rottweiler.
But what about protection if you ever find yourself not able to reach your firearm in a home robbery or a life protection incodent? What would be the next thing or soul you would hope to rely on to help you defend against an intruder?

Had a similar dog when I was young. Billy.
Saved up my own money for 6 months to buy him.
Was a blue healer mix. He was one in a million. No formal training but wow, what a loving , caring, obedient dog. Not perfect by any means. But he did enough things right to make you forget about the wrongs.
Like I've said, I do love dogs. But..... People who think that every dog if raised in a loving environment will be a "perfect" dog is dead wrong.

Mr Snowmow, I have seen, heard and watched many who would disagree with you. I have seen those who have little respect for animals and believe they are products of the owner (somewhat true). I was raised on a ranch in southern Alberta, Canada. We had over 200 animals mixed up between, cattle, horses, dogs, and cats. I have yet to see an animal that I trust 100%. We had some awesome critters!!! I love my pets, but the bottom line is... a trigger is all it takes to set one off. I do trust the fact dogs are fairly trustworthy, yet the odd one does something completely off the wall. It is like people, the odd one doesn't do what you would expect. To put your life in the hands of an animal is a bit off the wall. I listen to... we need guns to protect us... I hear if they don't work, we need viscous dogs and animals to fend off the bad guys.... . Come on folks, I believe we need to take solace in taking care of ourselves, if this means your comfort zone is a gun, so be it. The very same goes with dogs. Just don't make the mistake of trusting an animal to the point yo believe they can do no wrong. All animals, including people deserve a certain amount of respect. Be cautious of trusting an animal to your kids. There are documents of animals saving people and visa versa. There are also similar documents showing the complete opposite. Just be-aware... and take caution!!!
