New 900 Owner

Picked myself up an '06 900 151", did some research and I think I got lucky with this one... it's got 1700 miles, fire n ice intake, slp pipe and can, mesh vents, 3211115 belt, team secondary, slp powder pro skis, and all updates have been completed. Picked her up for $2700... now just waiting for snow to go play.

Here's to hoping for a very reliable and fun future!

Thanks to the read before you buy write up, really helped me!

Welcome to the club! Always nice to have more 900 peeps in here...

Be sure to have a look at your throttle body boots and your oiler cable to be sure they are in good condition, as well as a THOROUGH inspection of the sled as a whole...

Good luck and happy riding:beer;

Thanks I'll check that for sure! Honestly the previous sled owner seemed to take very good care of it and knew the problems this sled out of the box and the remedies for them... it was a local trade, and I think he had a boondocker box on it, it's got some boondocker metal tabs on the intake and an egt set up?

I was also thinking about throwing the sway bar back on it, as it was taken off. I've rode with them off and I didn't like it...

Some pics, and upon further investigation, boots are cracked, so I'll be replacing those before riding... and also noticed the front radiator has not been canned... so will also be doing that before the season begins. Was also seeing what oil they had in it, smelled like Klotz... but I'll be stopping by the dealer to verify this as well before riding.

Tabs are where nitrous nozzles were plumbed into air box.?.....hmmm
Carls sway bar front track spring set up works really well.
Follow sticky on rad delete to assure no problems..get/use scratchers.
Go Ride..

Ya know I had wondered about that... that is a bit worrying. The rad delete didn't look bad to do, and I'll do it at the same time I do my throttle body boots. It's got scratchers so I'll be running those.

It seems to be leaking oil on the mag side of the head... head gasket?

Really trying to cover everything as I'm deathly afraid of this motor's reputation.

The reputation is much better than say a.......800 dragon etc. But OMG lets not talk about them and all the problems they have!! The 900 pulled a few 800's out.
4k plus miles with very little in the way of repairs ( no major ) is not to shabby.

If you don't know what kind of oil is in the tank. Save a lot of hasles and get rid of it and start with fresh of all one kind (polaris gold). don't mix or you'll have a whole set of problems if their not compatible. believe me they are not all compatible.

I too recently picked up a 900 fusion. It had all the recalls done, but had a bad track and pin hole leak in the heat exchange. Also the suspension would not rebound so rebuilt the fox shock and replaced the springs with heavier spring. Next issue is replacing the track and cannot locate the drain plug on the chaincase to remove the drive sprocket/ drive.
Not looking forward to it, but have never turned away from hard work.

2005 fusion 900

I also just purchased a 05 fusion 900 with upddates and clutch, pipe, only 1600 miles on her..only paid a buck a mile, decent deal...now to figure out the modification or upgrade..
