new 2008 m1000 wont start

I bought a brand new 08 m1000 snow pro today and started and loaded it at the dealership. Got home to take it off the trailer and it wont start. anyone have any ideas?

I would almost guarantee you fouled plugs. This has happened to me twice on my M1000. It's due to a quick start up, run for only a few seconds and shut off.

Either clean your plugs or replace.

Let me know if this helped.

I cleaned the plugs, it will run for a few seconds if i primed it. repeated that several times thinking maybe stale fuel. Maybe a pump or something? Tired of pulling it over, I am going to take it back to the dealer, let them worry about it.

thanks for the suggestions.

That would make me upset if I brought a new sled home from the dealer and it woudn't run :(

Hopefully it is something stupid/simple

See if it will stay running if you pour some gas into the airbox. This was the fastest way to get my sleds started for the first time this year.

more of the same m1000 problems

Took this thing back to the dealer, they got it running / brought it home ran long enough to get it unloaded then the same. When i called them they said they had replaced the Fuel pump and that i should pull the fuel line off to see that this was still working and is was not. I drained the fuel so that i could see the pump then saw that the tank had sand and gravel in it. When i called the dealer they said hook a battery to the pump connection and run it backward which did free the pump and started right away. Pretty sure that the suggestion they gave me was exactly what they did/not change the pump. Question; I am really concerned that this crap may have gone further into the system, dealer said it wasnt possible? does anyone know what else may be at risk? i really want a different new sled.

I dont blame you. You just spent alot of money on the sled and as a new left over it should be new with nothing in the tank. Dont risk it make the fix or replace it before it happens on a ride, unless you are going to carry a battery with you all the time. Then thats not so much batteryless EFI.

m1000 no start

Maybe the smart valves in the tank, (the blue round things on the fuel line in the tank), are closing off, if there is water in your fuel they will shut and not let it flow into the pump. They are very fine screens, so I wouldn't be to worried if any got into you engine, but clean the tank out. Your dealer should help you out! It would be easiest to take the tank off and hold upside down to clean it out.

No kiding?

Take it back to dealer and have them fix it. Take pics of sand and gravel I just cant see how unless it sat out side and a kid threw it in. Anyway it can not get threw the screens they will just need cleaned or replaced and yes pull the tank.

Probably not sand and gravel, it is usually the brass internals of the pump. When a pump is bad or plugged and you run it in reverse you will sometimes get "gold dust" in the tank. The tank needs to be flushed and smart valves cleaned, but like mm said above, it can't get through the screens or the injectors and you will be fine. I would clean the tank and the smart valve screens. See if your dealer can get you some sort of extended warranty or bonus item that will work for both of you. :beer;

rocks in the tank

it was gravel, i think some children must have put in there some are big enough to throw. The good thing is Dons speed parts has been around along time, i dont think they want to see this thing back and will fix it for good now, they are good guys. i feel better after talking to my sales guy

More m1000 advice needed please

So I talked to the dealer today and he said he would do what ever it takes to make me happy, said he would replace the sled but only has the 153 not the 162. I do most of my riding on the praries and likely will be fine with the 153, its what i used to run on my m8. Anyone have any feed back for me?
