NEW 10 '' SKI MORE IN DEPTH HANDLEING DESCRIPTION

Double carbide

The idea behind using the Woody's Dooly, was to have all cutting carbides and to have more surface area on the bottom of the center keel. The less the center keel sinks in, the farther you can lean without outside keels touching.

Okay so I am totally new to the snowbikes, bought one in August, got it in November, first ride before Christmas and I have about a total of 4 hours on the kit. Rode the 6" ski for about 4 hours, installed new ski last night, took for 1 hour ride today in 2 foot of fresh powder. I am absolutely blown away.

I went into it thinking if there was any improvement at all it would make this setup one of the coolest things on the face of the earth. Not only was there "some" improvement, it was like riding a whole new bike.

Got onto a freshly groomed trail, no ruts or anything and was 5th gear pinned about halfway through the gear when I let off, it tracked well, didnt wash or dive around. Took some good fast turns and ski held where I wanted it to go. Much improved flotation, better coming down off jumps and slightly better at downhill to flat transitions. Turns great in the powder. I cannot say enough about it. Hope you all have yours by now and have it ready to go.

newski

Tom got his ski this week, so today we had lots of good side by side comparison trade'n bikes and checking ski performancel.

I run a gen I with fairly tall center keel same length as stock side genI runners with 1 1/2" side extensions

Cold packed ncie wide flat road ride not concrete, maybe slight edge to my gen I, but newski predictable, clean cornering, little twitching, comfy ride.

As we hit narrower trail on the road with fun settled fine grained powder on the edges and road banks to play on the newski took over, great float, way more confidence inspiring diving into the road ditch drifts, the next upside is when the junk gets deeper, with the newski floating those old sink holes sucks less power out of your bike and you can roll the throttle and cut back up on the road, the gen I even with my extensions sinks, too often it forces me to drop a gear.

The newski packs a wider track for your track to follow and not as deep a ski rut as the gen I, which seems to make a more predictable loose snow carving situation. In the settled powder we were in today, the newski was hands down waaay better.

My buddy is down for the next week so he loaned me his new ski for the this weekend and next... holy cow.... the new ski is so great. It floats, it holds a sidehill, it inspires confidence especially when descending steep downhill grades. It just flat out WORKS.

No doubt, the new ski does complete the kit. It's awesome!

Hey Rush after riding the new ski you rely appreciate how badly the old ski sucked. It was time someone did something about it Thanks Allen :face-icon-small-ton

So I had to put on the old ski while I waited for my personal new ski to show up.... HOLY GOOD GOD it sucks by comparison. When you didn't know the difference it wasn't so bad, but now every time it dives I get pissed.... every time it sinks and slows the bike down I get pissed.... every time it washes out I get pissed. Yesterday was deep sugary snow and I was pissed a lot. Hurry up Simmons and make more skis!
