newski
Tom got his ski this week, so today we had lots of good side by side comparison trade'n bikes and checking ski performancel.
I run a gen I with fairly tall center keel same length as stock side genI runners with 1 1/2" side extensions
Cold packed ncie wide flat road ride not concrete, maybe slight edge to my gen I, but newski predictable, clean cornering, little twitching, comfy ride.
As we hit narrower trail on the road with fun settled fine grained powder on the edges and road banks to play on the newski took over, great float, way more confidence inspiring diving into the road ditch drifts, the next upside is when the junk gets deeper, with the newski floating those old sink holes sucks less power out of your bike and you can roll the throttle and cut back up on the road, the gen I even with my extensions sinks, too often it forces me to drop a gear.
The newski packs a wider track for your track to follow and not as deep a ski rut as the gen I, which seems to make a more predictable loose snow carving situation. In the settled powder we were in today, the newski was hands down waaay better.
