I vote against getting a PS3 if you do not game. When DVDs got popular and the Ps2 first came out I bought one so I could watch movies and play a game once and while. my ps2 had crap video quailty than a stand alone DVD player. and I am willing to bet the same thing is happening with the blu-ray in the PS3. I wound up getting a Cambrige audio auzur 540D dvd player. It was more money than PS2 but the picture quality is out standing for standard def. I am waiting for them to make a blu-ray. My advice to you would be to look at Blue ray at a real live AV store, not best buy, tweeter, ect. An actual AV store will have the players set up the way they should be and will let you actually demo them. Look into brands such as Denon, Marantz, pioneer elite, panasonic. For recommendations I would look at this site... www.avsforum.com.. they are like the snowest of home theater.
So is the PS3 have better blu ray quality then the $250-$280 players?
