Need to get a blu ray player..... HELP what to get

Thanks guys!

Yeah the TV is a Samsung 46" A650 50K-1 contrast ratio 120hz etc....

Now just looking for a good deal on a PS3. All the extra make it so damn much!!

Pm me on what you are looking for... i beat amazon pricing. No deals on Ps3 or any other game station deals, but home theater, and other home electonics stuff. Drop ship if it is a good deal for you.

I vote against getting a PS3 if you do not game. When DVDs got popular and the Ps2 first came out I bought one so I could watch movies and play a game once and while. my ps2 had crap video quailty than a stand alone DVD player. and I am willing to bet the same thing is happening with the blu-ray in the PS3. I wound up getting a Cambrige audio auzur 540D dvd player. It was more money than PS2 but the picture quality is out standing for standard def. I am waiting for them to make a blu-ray. My advice to you would be to look at Blue ray at a real live AV store, not best buy, tweeter, ect. An actual AV store will have the players set up the way they should be and will let you actually demo them. Look into brands such as Denon, Marantz, pioneer elite, panasonic. For recommendations I would look at this site... www.avsforum.com.. they are like the snowest of home theater.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

Don't bet your house on it, Hoss...

So is the PS3 have better blu ray quality then the $250-$280 players?

I have watched blu-rays on samsung, sony, sharp and PS3's and do not see any difference. Anyone that tells you there is, is full of it Kurtis....

FYI...I work directly with Samsung, Sony, LG, Sharp, etc... assisting them design the analog back end circuits used in their DVD players and STB's....

Of cour----- ahhh crap snowman beat me to it....:(

Haha jk, he is right, they all biscally use the same hardware components if I'm not mistaken so far on the blue ray players, or at least the technology and output of them is generally the same. you can only get so much performance out before the limiting factor is ging to be something else, like tv frame rates, cables, etc. If you are so worried over what that tiny bit of improvement might come from and eliminating it, you can buy me one of them all too cause you would have way too much money haha.

Go with the ps3, sometimes even find deals on getting free bluerays when you buy them (not sure if they still do that, but at one time you could get like 5 free or something like that), and enjoy the downtime....

(just had nose surgery, was at home for a week with nohing I could do but sit in bed, was the excuse I needed to double the size of my tv in my room....40" now :D :beer;)
