Need recommendations on Rear Rear track shock alone, and revalving others

Tony... are you needing to re-fresh your shocks as often as the stockers after your change to the Synth fluid and new valving and Re-drilled pistons?

.

Eric,
The synthetic is working very well.
The high flow piston(no need to drill) with the .006 thick shim is the issue. The .006 shim is in the stock valving and location.
I replaced the .006” yesterday with a thicker shim. Testing a different compression stack to see if they will hold up.

I've done my own shocks for many years .. Don't be afraid to try it !!

Parts Unlimited has a nice Ryde FX service needle kit to get started .

One of those and your choice of Nitrogen setup and your in .. Just need to do 40 or so before you stop spraying your shop with oil !!!

Learn by your wit and you won't forget !!!!!!

Deycore and Carver have many of the IFP settings you need or your dealer will print it .

So far only once, and I’ll never forget it. It’s still evident on my ceiling, 14’ up.

Yes sir.
I bought my setup back in ‘92. It payed for itself on the first revalve, service compared to sending them off.
Prices have gone up but it doesn’t take long to pay for the kit. Yes you will need a nitrogen tank. My kit came from Polaris with the regulator.
This tool is a must need tool for setting the IFP.

Not for the average DIY'er IMO

You need a clean well lit space, a bench that you can drain oil onto, a good vise with soft jaws and preferably shaft jaws, the correct wrenches to pull the end cap, an assortment of pics, a good place to clean.

MUST relive the pressure COMPLETELY behind the IFP... Or you will also have pink ceilings and some interesting laundry.

AND Read how to do it in the factory service manual if you've never done it before. You will need to be familiar with the process and the mentality behind this.... Not for the average DIY'er IMO... but certainly doable with the right equipment and some good tech skills.

The equipment cost for the gas filling, (needle, regulator, hose) IFP depth tool, with a rented nitrogen bottle should be about $400.

What do you have in there for preload of the stack?

Different shocks I know... but the concept for overhaul is the same.

Enjoy
