Need more RPM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to see 30,000 rpm out of my 07 rev any suggestions?

not sure about 30k, but remove clutch...remove rev limiter....start, throttle to bar? =\

on a serious note...less pin wt...what elevation? 16g is still a decent ammount...if u have to pull all added pin wt, run it hollow, and or clicker to 6...

i'd gear 19/45 w/ that much track in that chassis, personally.

and i thought the 7t 3p was ~ 8t 2.58p (is that right for the older doo drivers?)

i dont have any answers, but i do have a few questions. i have an 01 summit highmark 800. i am very interested in extending my track to a 162". did you do rail extentions or just a new suspention and if you did do rail extentions where did you get them from??? and the hyfax??? thanks

CJ-What pipes are you running?? I tried to run Crankshop twins on my 830 and could not make the d**n thing to go over 8100 no matter what. Put on a stock single and instant fix. Just a thought.

I am running RK Tech's 827 kit in my 05 REV. I had to clicker up to #5 and she holds right at 8300-8500 in deep powder. I am running a CPI pipe with an MBRP can. I haven't tried my BRP race twins or the stock single pipe yet. As for gearing, I'll have to pull the cover off and look (I lost my notepad with all this info written down), Same with the primary, I'll have to look and see what is in there, it was set-up by the dealer and I never changed it. My secondary is a TEAM Roller with a Blk/Red spring with a 42-44 staright helix. I will try to get back to you once I get things pulled apart! Hopefully you get it fixed soon. Keep us posted on what is going on. Good Luck!

Most of Kelsey's motors need to be jetted correctly before they will pull close to correct rpm. The biggest symptom of this is removing pin weight or adjusting tra positions does nothing to change rpm. Example, I have a 662 motor and had jetting to be real safe with tempa-flow at 400 mains. Pig rich, but didn't pull rpm. No problems. Dropped mains went to 380 and still no change. Pulled 1 gram of pin weight and no change in rpm, pulled another gram no change in rpm. Played with clickers no real change. Dropped to 360 main and bang over-rev. started adding weight and clickers on 3 and had to add more weight than the 2 grams I took off previously. 2 main jet sizes smaller made a 500 rpm difference in the motor and its still safe at -20°F.

WOW,

King Pin.. I do not know who you are .. but you are 100% correct. Thanks for your input..

With our patented dome design.. and even our non -patented design, it does not like over-fueling...

Our heads are the only head that actually increase combustion efficiency greatly. So, since it is MORE efficient.. it needs much LESS fuel to maintain the proper Air/Fuel Ratio.. NO engine runs to its potential when it is drowning in fuel...

Cjfarm has found that his DPM was not working and is stuck in sea-level jet mode and he rides at 9500ft.. He is fixing that and hopefully that will fix the issues.

WOW is right - I would have thought that at 9500 ft if the DPM was in default mode, the sled would hardly run (with sea level jetting)? Has he already jetted down below the baseline? I know that my mod won't run at 9000 with jetting for 4000.....

I have found that my dpm sendor was stuck and causing it to run in a fuel rich mode. So i have fixed the problem and jetted back-up to 470's and have not made it to that mountain yet. As for my pipes, i run the stock pipe and can. Still think the gearing that i have is close comsidering that i have the smaller drivers? And all i did to get the 162 under there was skid set0back and a set of rail extensions. I think the rail extension are for a 151 to a 156 if i remember right! I can't wait to see how it runs. i will post and soon as i find out. Thanks everybody for all your help. This is what makes this forum great.

Howdy Curt-When I put the 156x16x2.5 3.00 pitch Camo xtreme under my sled, BJ's recomendation was to go to 19/45 gears with the 7t extros. Have run this for 3 seasons now, stock chain. You have to remove the idler to get the gears and chain on, then reinstall the tension idler. Geared it down quite a bit, prolly 70 mph top end. Should prbably be thinking bout new chain with the 840 HO motor this year, pretty sharp bend for that power.

He pretty much left my carbs alone for the 840, has RKT head, Xtreme-Perf carb rebuild, DPM gone, Jack Harris Power-jets, carbs vented to airbox, setup for 8-10k ft. running 310 mains, would have to look up needles, needle jets, etc..
Had this setup for last 3-4 years, has worked well at altitude and at home @ 2000+ ft. Open up powerjets when it needs more fuel.

02's were notorious for crappy carb and dpm calibration.

Haven't seen any pic's of that sled yet. Am gonna doo a tuning run to BigHorns after x-mas for my sled and Racer-X sled, not much snow there yet, but prolly gonna just get greasey for a couple days anyway.
do let us know how it runs.;)

Have same sled it rips

1 What main jet size
2 What degree helix

I run a team with black white spring and staight 40 , My new xp runs similar with straight 42, it works well with 2.5 track as well.

Summit8- what rpm are you seeing out of that 840? Thanks for the info as well.

Montanapowder- My main jet is at 470's and i have the SMT-8 helix

Haven't really been able to do much looking yet, a couple of short pulls on the grass. Big Horns after X-mas for tuning run. Will let you know.
