I just bought a new tss 04 rapid reaction clutch for my sled it is a 2000 700 RMK it will fit the shaft but the key will not go the slot it looks to tall does anybody now what i need to do or have a suggestion any help would be great

Clean the keyway on both the shaft and clutch with brake clean or something similar. If the key is still too tall just grind it down with a dremel or grinder. It may also be that the keyway on the shaft is a different width than the keyway in the clutch. I retrofit my snowhawk with a team secondary last season and I had to modify the key. The keyway on my hawk was .3" and the secondary was .25". I used my dremel and ground down each side of the key so that the lower portion or snowhawk side of the key fits snug and the secondary side or upper portion fits snug as well.

Hope you get it,

cwh

Grind down one side of the key so that it fits properly, did this when I installed a TSS-'04 on a '04 700Pro-x2 that I had.

Thanks for all the input on my clutch problems i called the polaris shop and went and got the right key mine was a 1/4x1/4 and ineeded a 1/4x3/16 now just wait for snow to see if it made a difference on my sled thanks again:D
