need help from boost it guys

Maybe I muddied the waters here. I will be using a apex fuel regulator on my nytro. The msd will feed the stock rail and the boost it rail. Then the apex regulator will be installed in the return line. Neil said for this to only have boost reference.

I was planning on hooking the xic box to the vacuum/boost lines. Now I am wondering if that is right Should it be boost only also????

Thanks

I think someone is making this harder than it is. Not your fault though!

1. It is important to use a 1:1 rising rate regulator. So the regulator does not recognize vacuum, the boost signal must come from the intercooler.

2. Install the vacuum hose into the hole in the front of the XIC by twisting and pushing at
the same time. Connect the vacuum hose to the intake manifold of the engine, so
the XIC will sense both vacuum and boost pressure on the engine.

This is straight from Neil@boost-it. Ive done this to my Nytro and it works!

Yeah the XIC needs to see BOTH vacuum and boost. I think the confusion might be from the difference of apex and nytro installs. On my apex using the stock fuel reg. It sees both vacuum and boost.

Ok, that is how I understood it too, but was wanting to be sure before i drill and tap a barb into the intercooler.

Any more opinions on the tps?

Thanks guys

TPS is a new feature on the most recent XIC kits. Its not really necessery to hook up on the Nytro IMO. Its use is for quickly cutoff fuel to the extra injectors when throttle is closed rapidly. some 2strokes and 4stroke race engine with little or no vac signal needs this. On mild or normal 4strokes its not necessary. Threshold parameters will cutoff fuel effectivly.

ok, went ahead and tapped the line for the tps, and have everything back in sled. I have the fuel system pretty straight in my head now, but have one more question. The wire harness that comes from the boost it injectors has a connector on it with the three wires, pretty obvious where they go, but there is one lone wire, where does it go? I cannot remember anything in the directions telling me, but will check again. thought someone here might know off the top of their head.

Thanks

Neil did send me a message about the relay, he is in revy and has poor coverage. Here i sit in iowa, what little snow we have is melting and he is in revy LOL, doesn't seem fair

He said that they found they didn't need the relays anymore unless the sled was already using quite a bit of the voltage. I went ahead and picked one up today, seemed like a good idea to me.

if you want to just get your signal from the line that ties the bov, boost gauge & throttle boddies together you just need one of these.

it goes here you can see it right by the steering post.

as for power you just get it from the fuse block just in front of the oil tank here.

that way it is fused you just have to run a bit bigger fuse.here is a few pics of how all the signal lines tie in from the bov

The Nytro needs a line from the intercooler to the reg, the Apex needs a line from the throttle bodies. The factory fuel regulator works awesome on my Apex. It runs so consistant now, I dont even run a fuel press gauge anymore.

Thanks guys, got everything mounted, just got to get the controller mounted so I can route all the wires. Anyone got an idea on the extra wire coming from the injectors. I do not see anything in the directions about it.

Thanks again

I decided to just drill and tap the intercooler to put a hose barb in for the regulator. I cannot put the fuel lines all in quite yet as I am waiting for the adapter for the regulator that hopefully will be here mon or tues.

So on the nytro with the factory fuel pressure regulator, it should see only boost? I have a friend who bought a boosted nytro and we installed a boost it and i am sure the regulator is hooked to both. Did some kits have it that way or is it just a better way?
Thanks

I dont think you can use the factory regualtor on the Nytro. Needs a different regulator that raises fuel pressure 1:1 with boost. Like the Apex has stock...
