need help checking for boost leaks

Ok, doing a little pre ride maintenance and since I have never checked to see if I have any boost leaks I thought it was time. I rigged up at air fitting where the air filter was and when I get up to around 8 psi on the boost gauge air starts leaking out around the BOV, do I have a bad one, or what should I see. I assumed I should be able to pump the gauge up to 14 psi without seeing any leaks.

This is on a Powderlites turbo, and the BOV is built into the lower left side of the intercooler.

your right you should be able to built up pressure to 14# or more with out leaks. I had the sam issue with my blow off valve so i took it off and cleaned it and remounted it that seemed to work. if that doesn't i am sure dave would love to sell you a new one
